Default & AWG with TX Guaranteed...options?
I have about $37k in loans currently serviced by Texas Guaranteed and in default. I have been in Administrative Wage Garnishment for a couple of years.
I don't have enough extra income to do 9 months of rehab and the Texas Guaranteed FAQ states that Direct Loan Consolidation is not available for those in AWG. I'm trying to confirm this as I seem to recall reading that consolidation WAS available for defaults in AWG after 3 months of extra payments AND if I agreed to IBR/ICR for repayment.
Does anyone have any experience or advice with Texas Guaranteed and consolidation? Or other general advice? Should I just get a part-time job and gut out 9 months of rehab (i'm already working quite a bit to get by now). Thanks in advance!!

The 3 payments is for people who are not in AWG. The only option you have is rehab to get out of the garnishment. Look at picking up an extra job to complete it....either that or tighten your budget.
