Hoatage tax return

Can a lawyer hold my tax return hostage in regards to get me to do something my ex-wfe wants done? The divorce was finalized back in Feb 2011 and she sent her lawyer the tax return which he will not release to me until I agree to something that was not in the divoce decree.
