I have a alp private student loan co-signed with my grandfahter , this totals over 17,000 I would like to clear this debt and my grandfather is there other ways besides bankrupies(chapter 7 and chapter 13

Student loans both federal and private are non dischargable in bankruptcy. Even if it was possible to include it, both you AND your grandfather would have to file.
