CAPITAL ONE CALLED MY HOUSE AUGUST 8,1;30 PM SATURDAY TO SPEAK WITH MY HUSBAND ABOUT CAPITAL ONE.THE LADY FROM CAPITAL ONE TOLD ME WAS A COURTESY CALL!!!SHE WANTED TO SPEAK WITH MY POOR HUSBAND THAT IS ALMOST CLOSING BOTH ACCOUNTS OF CAPITAL ONE.TODAY CAPITAL ONE CALLING AGAIN BUT NOBODY HERE TAKE THEIR CALLS.

yes hassle one are crooks.but what can we do about it.my card was maxed out with 39.00 to spare but when i got my statement i was charged 39.00 over limit fees.hows that possable?if finance charges put me over than they over limited me.if they would have let me make payment first it wouldnt have been over limit.

Attention this number is a scam. The people who are running the scam are putting messgaes here that say other wise or that complain about capitol one to make it seam as that they are legit. DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFORMATION, THEY SHOULD HAVE IT ON FILE!!!

That goes for *anyone* calling you, regardless who they say they are. Expect something in writing *first*.

I actually work for Capitol One and every thing you stated is our mandatory process. We are required to verify the primary account member by postal zip code, zip is common because we understand that customers don't want to disclose personal info. If the customer cannot verify, because this will be the original zip code on the account and you can have multiple addresses (such as previous homes) on the online account. I just wish customers would understand that the telephone agents, like myself, are required to READ SCRIPTING! Everything done on a call is ditated by Capital One LAWYERS...it truly is for protection and you always have a choice... I'm just appreciating the flexible scheduling as I'm a college student... I appreciate you're courtesy but people have to understand that this stuff has to be uniform...

I'm one of those agents, it's scary how many people actually have open accounts whom have just forgotten about them......!!!! Almost everyday I talk to someone who has an account inactive since 2007!! We don't call unless there is an active account, take 30seconds to speak with us and get the CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER TO CLOSE THE ACCT!!!! Either it was one or someone is BORROWING your identity!! Think people!

18009557070 or18009556600 and capital one as well as 18887484956 are Capitol One. My account is up to date but I have a nephew, different last name and they are calling me about his account. Never lived in ND and he has always have lived in southern Indiana or Illinois with his mother.

I just checked capital one website and their correct number is 18009557070. This is the number that is a genuine capital one number, and so to me at least, there does not appear to be any fraud etc associated with this number. by the way, I got this number by calling 18886188905 which was the number on the caller id where the automated voice machine said someone was trying to open an account on my name.

Thank god for Call Control Download for my Andriod cell phone....blocks all of these calls from this number!!!!
