Sub: #1 Allied/Harassment
I am recently divorced, and my transmission just went out in my car, soI am currently in a bad financial situation. I can't pay what they want, and they are threatening to send it in to have my wages garnished. I don't even know if they are legit. Can someone please give me some kind of direction on where to go with this?

Listen to the advise given on the forum and request in writing a validation letter of the debt from Allied Interstate. I would also email, fax or mail a demand letter that they stop calling your place of employment. Also file a complaint against them with the AG in your state and send a copy of the complaint to Allied as well. They seems to listen when they have a complaint staring them in the face from the AG.

The debt is a student loan, that I had defaulted on. I made a payment offer to them and they refused and demanded I pay no less than 300.00, which at this time I cannot afford. I did not think that they were allowed to refuse a payment... They keep trying to push me into a payment plan that is out of my scope. I requested to talk to "their" supervisor and the creditor I was talking to would not let me talk to anyone else. I only have a direct line to the man who keeps calling me. I want to get this cleared up, but if they are demanding something that I cannot give them, and are unwilling to accept what I can give them...then what am I suppose to do? I've never dealt with anyone who was so uncooperative.
I live in the state of Missouri. I will contact the AG and FTC and, also request a letter conformation letter.

Federal or private loan? How much do you owe?
Sounds like you have defaulted on your loan and when that happens, your balance becomes due in full on demand per your agreement on the prom note.
