student loan- default
Does anyone know the name of a financial company that would buy my defaulted student loan? I would like to consolidate and put my loan in "current status".

Federal loans you will want to go thru the Direct Loan Program. Have you talked to your guarantor or the CA handling the account? Are you being garnished?
If it is a private loan, you will be SOL ....pretty well only wells fargo is doing private loan consolidations and they are credit based...being in default you will not qualify.
