Can student loans go under a debt relief program?
I am drowning in student loans. I dont qualify for a consolidation. Is there a debt relief program that will help me with Chase and Nelnet private student loans? They call me literally 20 times a day.

Have you tried to work something out with them? Consoidate? Ask for a deferment? Ask for a hardship plan? How much do you owe? How long has it been since you made a payment? How much are your payments?

Yes. Ive talked to them until I am blue in the face. Theyve cussed me out. Threatened me. I actually do pay them, but the bill is so expensive that I cant catch up. Chase told me that they have a freeze on all deferments. Nelnet gave me a deferment but its ended now. Niether give hardship plans - Ive asked several times. I owe about $100,000. My payments are $800 + a month. The response I get is screw you pay me. I believe if they could come break my knees they would. The bill is more then my rent. I can't afford it. Period. I work a lot but Im a recent grad - Im still at the low end of the pay scale. I wish they could come see how meagerly I live - cause they act like Im spending all my money at the mall and just choosing not to pay. Which is so far from the case its ridiculous.
unfortuantely this is how private student loans work and this is
unfortuantely this is how private student loans work and this is why I advise people not to borrow them or to borrow as little as possible. They are under no obligation to offer you hardship plans or deferments....this is just the nature of the loan type.
