loan rehabilitation

I just finished student loan rehabilitation, just made my final 9th payment. I was wondering what the process is now. NJ higher ed stated that the loan must be purchased now to be cleared of my credit, has to be done first. Anyone have any experience as how long? I am trying to get fha mortgage but this has to be cleared first, and i was wondering how long and if its long whether I can just pay it off in full before it being purchased and be cleared from my credit completely. i just want it cleared from my credit report in the quickest way possible. My loan is minimal, about $4,000, should be purchased since it is such a low amount no? Any help would be much appreciated.... thanks...
