hmmm since ten dollar payday is a d/b/a of MTE,and totallt illegal i'm guessing that either this is either a fake law firm made up by their internal collections,or a bottomfeeder.i would file AG complaints against both the lender, and the alleged law firm.ten dollar can't do a thing, and neither can any supposed law firm.why?because they go by the "tribal immunity"BS so anybody must be a member of the tribe to sue,and even them the immunity is moot in a US court of law.file the complaint, and ignore them.

I live in Texas. Ten Dollar had Norman Kalina after me (not registered as a debt collector in Texas) and sent him a DV letter, along with a copy of Texas law and they never contacted me again. I also reported them to the AG and the feds. Now I want to do the same thing to this crook. I haven't had ANY payday loans for over three years, and I'm thinking that IF I ever had a loan with this company, it was over four years ago, so it would be beyond the statute of limitations.

wait a minute.just because they have a presence in nc doesn't make this legit.anybody must be bonded in texas, and the loan was totally illegal.there is no fraud here.check your state DFI,and AG databases for their bond.btw MTE d/b/a's have been throwing out legit places to make them seem legit.i still wouldn't give them squat as fraud is a crime, and a law firm can't charge you with a crime.i am going to look into this firm myself.will be back with what i find out.

btw looked at them and they do fraud cases, but never pdl's.tendollar just threw a legit law firm against the wall.btw also quickly checked and there is nothing in any texas database on them.file a police report for the call, and then file AG,and FTC complaints against tendollar.again their was no fraud here and this firm can't do a thing to you because they are not licensed,or bonded in texas.do not pay them.

even further digging showed that they don't pratice out of the carolinas.also they have also been accused of fraud themselves so there you have it.do not pay them, report them.btw where did you find your info?seems odd that i couldn't find what you found.

Well I didn't find any such name in the licensee database in Texas. And as Paul posted, they have quite a few fraud cases reported against them I don't know where you got your information, but as for my advice, DON'T PAY THEM A DIME.

No debt collector will call you and threaten to sue you in the first call. That is a hint that it might be a scam. Did they tell you about the debt they are contacting you? Tell them to send you a collection letter, as per the FDCPA, to you. After you get that, you can send them a DV letter via certified mail with a request for return receipt.

I have received a call from them before about a month ago that stated the same thing that if I didn't contact them by monday they would issue a warrent for my arrest for check fraud.

As per the federal law (FDCPA), the debt collector should send you a collection letter within 5 days of initial contact. I don't think they are trying to collect the debt legally. The next time they call you, tell them clearly that you want the collection letter and that you want all collection processes through written mail and not over the phone. I don't think they will be able to validate the debt.

you see that acarpenter.the fact the keep threatening arrest and not actually following through should tell you something.like a bottomfeeding bunch that should be sued or arrested themselves.do not worry about them.file the usual complaints, and police report.then hang up on their sorry selves.they deserve nothing less.

They called me again today, "Inspector Baker" this time. I have searched for them on the internet, but I can't find anything. Phone number was 336-740-9076. I'd like an address so I can send them a letter and report them.
