How old was your debt? How far behind were you? Need to know because I'm still trying to figure out what my first step is without being sued by cc companies. Did you stop paying and build up money to settle? What did you say when communicated with them?

Debt was 90days old and i had to write an Hardship letter. Lost my job and havent had any income for a couple of months.

talked to them directly and they were pretty easy.

American Express is whacked. They settle $22,000 for 25% but want 55% on my $3,400. Many have said smaller amounts are harder to settle than the larger ones.
I agree, I think they think the larger the debt the more chance
I agree, I think they think the larger the debt the more chance of a Chapter 7 BK so therefore the larger balances get the better settlement percentages.

You're absolutely right. Its easier for them (the Creditor) to argue down a short payment plan on smaller amounts and justify it.
I would call 866-833-6398 they can settle for as little as 20 ce
I would call 866-833-6398 they can settle for as little as 20 cents on the dollar.
