For your student loan, did you apply for deferment? If this is a federal loan, it did not become due until March 09 and it then takes 270 days to default, so you would not have defaulted yet. You are entitled to up to 3 years unemployment/economic hardship deferment. Another thing....federal loans do not sue. You also might wanna look at consolidating it with the Direct Loan Program.
I actually know two people who graduated from La James and they highly recommend it. Iowa has tough standards.

Yes you have a debt, but put it into perspective - if you ever buy a house, that debt will dwarf this one, and people pay off mortgages all the time! Truely, it isn't the end of the world. the key for you i think will be to get soem money coming in. just because you didn't get the qualiification doesn't mean tyou can't still get a job.
