ARS calling my work every minute

HAs anyone ever heard of these people. A guy call Art calls me every morning at work and my supervisor even told him not to call. I just let the answering machine get it at home and he calls every minute for at least 6 times. I have told him to send me somehting in writing but he refuses.

Dawnie,

What is the purpose of the call? It seems you have talked to them? Why are they calling you? Could you please shed some more light?

However, ARS is American Residential Services. They provide variety of services including plumbing, air conditioning, heating and so on. Did you use their service in past? Perhaps they are calling you for some of your unpaid accounts. You have taken the right move by asking for some paper documents.

If they call again, ask for their address so that you can send your correspondences.

he just starts off by saying how much do I want to send them to settle an account. I have never used their services. he will not give me fax number or nothing and I cannot talk at work.

Dawnie,

Try to get their address while talking with the guy. Ask for their address to send the money. Enquire where they are located. This could help you find out their address.

Check whether they are listed with BBB. You can get their address from bbb.org too. Once you get the contact address, send them CMRRR for debt validation.

Dawnie,

American Residential Services is located in TX. You can contact them at

10515 Okanella, Suite 100
Houston, TX 77041

They also operate from some other locations.

Since you are pretty sure that you never availed their service, send them DV. They should provide you some paper documents to validate your debt. You will get 30 days time to dispute their claim also.

While sending the DV letter, add a paragraph asking not to call you at work. You can specify your convenient time when you can receive phone calls. Or you can mention that you would like to be contacted only through mails and they should obey it. Otherwise it will be considered as a violation of law.

A good technique to use the next time he calls is to ask him to hold on a second. And then just lay the phone down and walk away. I think he will take a hint? I have also read on this site, and in several forums that you can send a cease contact letter. You can find that in the Sample letters area.
