Collection agency troubles??
Now if they tell me that even if she pays the 100 a month it will still be sent back to school, why pay hin at all if the end result will be the same? I need help asap. She also has another debt with another company, i was advised by this site to set up a rehabilitation program. I did that and its working out. Thank you for the advice and thank you in advance for any responses regarding this issue.

Student debt collection process is exempted from some obligations; however they should not break the fdcpa laws. They should provide you debt validation before starting collection. Also they cannot be rude to the debtors. You can file complaint against them if they violate these rules.
As per as the loan is concerned, I would suggest rehabilitation again. Rehabilitation is the process that helps you improve your credit rating and this is the only way you can remove a negative mark from your credit report.
You can ask Windham Professional rep that you wish to rehabilitate it and see what he says. If the agency seems very tough to deal with, ask you girl friend to contact her school. They can offer some reasonable options.
