I think it stinks to have to pay to file bankruptcy. I did mine pro se and it was still $299 filing fee. I tried to get it waived but the judge denied it. Doesn't make much sense to me they charge you when you are broke.

If anyone is having financial difficulties and needs to file BK, do a search because there is a wealth of information out there that can help you file for less or even free. Having an attorney was great and our BK went smoothly BUT we really struggled getting the money to pay him off. In that time, we dealt with so much creditor harassment-it was crazy. I wish I would have known about half the options out there then like I know now. There are plenty and all FREE-you just gotta find them.
