Wage Garnishment Options

I have a situation I was wondering if anyone could provide any guidance. I was on a rehab program for my defaulted student loans but, during the repayment process I was terminated from my job and was unable to make any payments for 3 months. I called the CA today to make a payment to get my account up to date, but I was told that it was sent to Wage withholding on Friday and there is nothing I can do. I just started a new job last week. I want to make payments for my loan just not through wage withholding. Has anyone delt with a situation like this before? Thanks!!

Thanks for your help. I had to tell the CA rep 5 different times that I was out of work and just started a new job. She finally asked me who my employer was and realized it wasn't the same employer as before! She then explained that they just needed to verify that I didn't work my previous employer and I could be put back onto a voluntary payment plan.

Thanks for your help, this is a great forum!!!
