Should/can I consolidate?
I have 10 student loans through Edsouth Financial Services, 6 of which are Stafford, the rest of which are unsubsidized. When I spoke with Edsouth over the phone today, I asked them if they could simply group the two types of loans together into totals on my statement. They replied that they weren't currently offering an option to consolidate.
I was merely asking as a matter of convenience, but apparently there can be other advantages to consolidating? My interest rates are 4.21% on the Stafford loans and 6.8% on the nonStafford. Currently I am under deferment for financial hardship. Can I/Should I consolidate my loans, and if so, through who?
Thanks.

All of your loans are staffords...sub and unsub federal lo
All of your loans are staffords...sub and unsub federal loans are all called staffords.
I would recommend consolidated thru the Direct Loan Program. You will get a interest rated based on a weighted average of your current loans.
