I have $100,000 in cc debt and I am trying to pay it off with a settlement company but I cannot afford the payments. We do not have very much income. I know bankruptcy is bad but what else can I do? Please help.

how long have you been with the settlement company and how many accounts have been paid off? If you are just starting out bk may be your only choice, maybe you can lower your payments through the settlement company it will take longer, but maybe it would give you some relief. but in return you may get sued by these companies because its not going to be timely settled.

Dont feel bad about bk, you gotta do what you gotta do to survive and in these times, beleive me you are not the only one. There will probably be a line at the bk office.

I just started with the company and with their fees and the enormous amount of debt I have, it is too expensive. Right now I have to make sure I pay my mortgage so thats all I am really worried about. I always file a tax return so I know they can at least prove some income, although not much. Thanks for your input.
