8 year old school loan
My husband has a school loan that is in collection agency and it is 8 years old. He is not even sure if it is his. Should this drop from his report or does he have to pay it. The letter came from State of Maryland Central Collection Unit. He also got a later stating that he his car was uninsured in Maryland for a year or so and he owes state $7000 (totally crazy) what can be done about that. It came from the same agency. His credit is so bad but all of this is 7-10 years old. Now he cannot even get $500 secure credit card. We need help.

State or federally insured loans have no SOL and must be paid back.....the fact that a letter is coming from the state is a good sign that this he should be doing something quickly.
Call the school he attended or the state and find out the details.
