I would probably just ignore them. There is nothing they can do, in fact they are probably calling you from India.

Im concerned because he kept saying that they are going to file for a judgement.... I know that they don't even have a leg to stand on....Should I call them to get additional information or just leave it like that?

I think you need to send them a debt validation letter and a C&D so that they stop calling you (and your family members).

Plus you should be logging these responses/calls, because I believe under the fdcpa, they cannot threaten to sue you (i.e. get a judgement) without taking action, it's a violation of your rights. Google FDCPA and you can print out the 28 page document that outlines all your rights and what the collection agencies CAN'T do. Probably there was multiple violations already committed.

I have a DV letter that I am going to send, but unfortunately, they didn't give me an account # or a reference #. How should I address that issue when I send the letter? I don't want to put my Social # on the letter. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions as to how to get the account reference information so I can send the DV letter to them? Because I don't think that it would be of any help to send the letter without having to put my Social Security #. I much rather put an account #?

You don't have to have an account #, they use their own numbering system. They know you by name, send the DV letter asap.

Just with my name? Should I send the phone # they called to? They called me cellphone. Just want to make sure that it is OK to give them that #.

If you want them calling and harassing you on your cellphone, go ahead and give them your #.

Yesterday, my mom, my sister and I were all called by a man threatening court, and even threatened my sister by saying that she will be sued too because she's related to me LOL!

The # on my cell caller ID was 770-872-0952, and I called it back with a couple minutes (by accident, I was trying to get to my voicemail). An operator messaged stated "this number is disconnected or no longer in service". I'm like WHAT?! I listened to the voicemail (crappy voice quality, could hardly hear the message), and was given a case # and told to call them back at 770-783-1107. They did not disclose the name of the company, and the caller did not say his name. He said disjointed things like "we are filing suite in your county", and "you are named in this litigation".

Do not do anything with these people. Sending a DV letter or a cease and desist letter will do nothing. If they are breaking the law saying you are going to jail what makes you think they will follow the law on the DV and C&D letters?

Seriously, they cannot do anything to you. If they will not give you any information over the phone and never contact you by mail, Screw them. Do not contact them in any way, if they call get a phone number to call them back at and call the police. Have a police officer try to call the number and maby they might be able to do something. If they ever try to sue you you have the officer as a witness for court, not that these losers will sue anyone anyway.
