Private loan consolidations are very difficult to get right now. Unless your credit is better now than when you borrowed, you wont see any interest rate reduction and the origination fees can be very high, knocking out any cost savings.

I looked into it last year and it just was not worth it. I would have only saved like $50-75 a month. Definately easier to just pay the full amounts every month and have the loans paid off in 20 years instead of 30.
And with the way the economy is right now and low variable interest rates, why would i want to lock myself into a loan with a 8% rate when two of my loans are 4.25% and 3.25%
