Where do you go to sell your old gold?

Most local jewlery stores are buying old and broken gold. Check you phone book and call around. I would have a hard time sending something like that through the mail.

sure, it wasn't much, only like $20 something. heh, it wasnt just a gold piece - like it wasn't just pure gold, it had other stuff on it and i really haven't seen the other earring in years so it was worth it for me.

I need to start looking around my house. I think I might have mostly silver though. You would think that a jewerly store would buy silver also right?

here they do. They buy gold,silver and platinum. It can be jewlery,coins, they even buy old gold teeth :shock: That would creep me out :?

yea, they will buy just about anything because they just melt it down anyway. but, yeah.. the teeth thing creeps me out, too.

A jewellery store should buy the gold. They would not care how broken down the pieces are because they would go by weight and melt it and reuse it.

Alternately you could try ebay. A lot of jewellery is transacted through ebay.

I would say a jewelry store or a pawn shop. I would NEVER use those "Cash For Gold" or other things that advertise on TV. To me, that just says "SCAM"! They send you an envelope, and then you have to send in your jewelry and THEN they pay you?? I don't think so. If you've already mailed in your jewelry, what incentive do they have to pay you since you were already dumb enough to just give it to them?

I always wonder about the mailmen ... wouldn't it be easy just to grab those envelopes while picking up or delivering mail? Remember the hidden camers showing them opening christmas cards and taking out the cash?

about the mailmen.. i was always told they are constantly being watched, plus the envelopes are checked for any kind of metal so even the magnets in cash would be noticed by the machines there.. that is just a thought, i really do not know but i do not think it happens all that much.
