I sometimes get paid through Paypal, legal aid wants me to show my bank account statements, do they mean paypal also?

Why is Legal Aid wanting to see your bank statements? Do they just need to determine eligibility for services? Or is this bankruptcy-related?

To hazard a guess, if all they're doing is establishing eligibility, then bank statements shoud do the trick. If it's BK-related, I'd say they'd want to see your PayPal activity, too. That would merit a more in-depth examination of your financial position.

While Legal Aid, state assistance agencies, and the like can ask to see your financial documents, they are generally required to state up front why they want them, and the consequences of your not producing them. Then you can make an informed decision as to whether or not to produce them.

They said it's for both, to deterine eligibility and if I am eligible, to show six months of bank statements. Then I thought about paypal, I get paid sometimes through there and then I transfer the money anyway to my bank account, even if legal aid don't ask, I was wondering if the trustee would

The trustee likely will, even if LA doesn't. They're gonna know about your PayPal dealings, because it's tied to your bank account.

For my part, I've always found it a good practice to have the info available for anything I even remotely figure they might want to see. Saves time and frustration all around.
