Cali filer since you don't have the original and only a copy why don't you ring them up and ask them, I honestly am not sure about this. Keep checking back, someone else may have an answer for you.

We are in California also, and the paperwork that we received from our attorney specifically stated that it must be an original document and that photocopies are not acceptable. However, even though our attorney said to bring the SS card, she gave us a paper that listed other acceptable forms of proof: medical insurance card (although most don't use SS number on them anymore), W2 form for the most recent tax year, pay stub, IRS form 1099, Social Security Administration report, any other official document that has your name and Social Security Number on it.
