Effect of bankruptcy on my wife who has jointly signed loan

If I file for bankruptcy, what effect will it put on my wife who has jointly signed the loan with me. She is not the one who is filing for bankruptcy. I alone am planning for it?

Hi Jhonty

If you are filing for bankruptcy, your wife will still be liable to pay the said debt. However, chapter 13 will give protection to your wife from any legal actions.

Your credit report as well as your wife’s report will be showing this account included in bankruptcy.
