Ever Hear of NPD or National Processing Division

This sounds like another one of those scam phone calls. I bet if you ask for their address, they won't give it to you.

That is correct..They just called me and told me the cops will be at my house tomorrow night if I don't pay. Threatned to call my boss and tell him about it.

next time they call and tell you they are going to have you arrested tomorrow night and tell your boss tell them two things:

1. Make sure it is by 5:00 so you cna get dinner.
2. And the boss is deaf and does not accept phone calls.

Both these statements are violation of the law and you can file suit.

That makes the honest collectors look bad.

I believe honest debt collectors should support legislation that threatening phone calls that break the law should be a felony, and offenders will be put in jail and/or fined heavily.

I don't mean legislation that would make it harder for HONEST debt collectors to do their job.

If the profession was cleaned up, they would get more respect.

Well I told the VP of Human Resourses that I was being harassed by them and what they said. We contacted the Connecticut department of Banking Consumer Affairs Dept, The BBB and the FTC.

She also called them and told them not to call here anymore or she would call the cops on them. They told her to wait and see what happened tomorrow (which is today)night.

It turns out they are collecting on a debt that I already paid on to Ellis Crosby. They used the same tactics and I paid. At that time I had no clue this was all a ploy to get the money. It was here at these messageboards that I found out what they were doing is illegal.

Con artists, shady collectors, and scammers thrive on ignorant people. (Ignorant is not stupid, I am ignorant of things, because I haven't learned about them yet, so this is not an insult to anyone)If you don't know any better, you can be taken advantage of.

When you look up that number you can see they have a website called intellisourze located in India (go figure), a bunch of con artists trying to get money you have already paid, what can be done to get rid of these harrassing calls?

tell them your going to rub a dirty diaper filled with digested Indian food in their face if they keep bothering you.

How about buying a tape recorder, recording these illegal threats, and serving them with a lawsuit?

I am with you nascardevil...these people sure talk a big talk over the phone but are probably whimps sitting at their desks acting like big shots. :twisted:

P.S. can someone explain to me what these collectors mean when they say they are going to download someone...I am confused on what that means.

When I attempted to get an address to settle (even though it has been paid) the individual tells me that there is no address and I can settle in court.

Just tell them that is fine. You would be more than happy to settle in court. Basically call his bluff because if they will never sue. Personally I wouldn't even take his calls unless I was bored and felt like trying to make his day worse than it already is.

It's doubtful these people are even operating out of this country. You'd have no way of serving them.

My husband and I received a call from National Processing Division on Sept 10, 08. Says we applied and received an online loan and claims we never paid it back. Threatened that sheriffs and deputies would be on our front porch in the morning to take my hubby to jail. I've called all the local police and police in Maryland. They are using the 301 area code but the next 3 numbers, the prefix, does not exist in that area code. They are computers hackers, doing idenity theft, and they are not even in the united states. If they should call you don't give them any info...scary thing is that they knew everything about us. even parents personal statistics, and had our ss#. I have reported them to the FBI and all the new stations in Northern California. Good Luck Every one

i was recently called about a debt i owed and that they were going to have the cops pick me up tommrow for court if i don't settle after i told them that i would like for them to send all my documents to my email he told me that i refused to pay so they would send the cops tommrow and hung up on me .

they are something else literally.they can't and won't have you arrested.debts are civil matters not criminal ones.

lol, these fools are con artist, and terrible ones at that, i can`t believe that people here in the united states falls for such bs. no one can just come to your home and drag you to court, not repaying a loan cannot end you up in the pokie. these wrag heads and dot heads are simply trying to find gullable people to rip off. tell them to f--k off and die.

basically these people robbed payday loan info and all have heavy indian accents.. it's not a legit company and if you can get info from them... PLEASE notify the ftc.. or the attorney general or anyone else you can with as much info as you can. "they" hacked some data base with all these payday loans and info on them and are calling as "attorneys" and "legal whatevers.."... its not for real. DONT GIVE THEM ANYTHING!!!! protect yourselves. if you can get an email- or a fax- or names- or anything.. get it and keep it!

i know this because i'm working for a firm processing these loans.. a lot of our clients say they've been contacted by these people also going by many other names... but it's not a real company. know what you're getting into before paying anything. they're being investigated by the feds right now.. but are having a hard time getting anything. again.. if you can get contact info for them.. anything.. get it and notify authorities. (ftc.. attorney general.. etc.. )

these jack off people called me at work about 6 times today and told me i would be picked up monday morning and sued and charges would be pressed so i got my bank statement showing no money was put in my acount from them and he said his name was jack suicer i read on another site that they called a lady and his name then was mark red and they keep changing their number so they cant be tracked down i guess but what they really need is a good old fashioned ass beatin

I had the same experience. Was threatening with both civil and criminal action. They tried to bully me into paying something that was paid over nine months ago.
Their actions are grossly illegal, and when called on it will promptly tell you to never call again, then they hung-up the phone.
I told them to sue me, it would be very profitable for me, as they would lose in a heart beat.

I also received a call from them but it was for my grandmother that is 80 yrs old, blind, and in a resthome. They said she took a loan out online in 2007, that with the late charges it came out to $650, and they were going to have her arrested at my home. So, I told them that my uncle was the sheriff and they gave me a bogus number that is always busy and a bogus address in arvile, ca. But they are located in India, a city 30 miles from New Delhi

What is the name (not company name personal name) that these guys are giving you when they call? Cause this place has called me my boss and told my boss i was going to jail for six months.

These fools keep calling me from (646) 918-5130 saying he is from the legal department of National Processing Division first I had Robert Mueller calling me now it's Frank Jackson. He has a thick Indian accent and has left a message on my voicemail that I "need to talk to him or he would have me arrest" also has calling my work and left messages with people saying if I don't call back will be in jail for 2 years. At first I found this found since if they were legit collectors they would have broken several federal and state laws by these actions; now I'm getting upset at the calls.

never worry abt those phone calls...they r just call centres...i used to work there...and i realized it was really cruel and bad job....So i left it...but i wana convey this message to as many ppl as possible...so that they do not get scared.....

Yes..they are out of Westbury, NY..646-918-5060..they all use names like 'Peter Parker' , 'John Cooper' , 'Brian Smith'..and trust me..after hearing them..there is no way that these are their names.?? They wont even give you the specific reason for the call..except that 'you owe a debt from years ago'..and that."if you don't return the call, they will contact your family, friends and employer...and you will lose your job'....they are a fraud and a joke...im reporting them to every group that i can...
