I filed for bankruptcy and my debt is discharged

I did the only thing I could do and I am so glad I did it. I filed chapter 7 because there is no way I could afford a chapter 13 which is what is offered. It has been discharged and I an happy

Welcome to the forums. It's nice that you have discharged your debt by filing bankruptcy. Although you might be having some problems in getting new credit in the beginning, but you should take care of your accounts in the future so that the tough days are not repeated again.

Bankruptcy is reported for 10 years in the credit report as per
