Collection agency adds extra fee in debt validation response

If a CA responds with a debt validation and their fees are shown. Are you required to pay their fees as well, or should that be covered already in the selling process from the debtor? How do you validate what is a good fee?

md,

collection agencies can add extra charges and you have to pay this if you have signed to pay the collection cost or have agreed to pay penalty charges for late payments. Also no reasonable amount is set for this purpose; it depends upon the cases and types of debts.

These are the charges which can be eliminated by proper negotiation and expert debt consolidation companies can do it successfully. People can negotiate with collectors by their own but its better to appoint some skilled persons to deal with them.

If the consumer feels that the validated amount is disputed, the agency is required to verify it and show the break down.

If they are not able to validate it after repeated calls, the information is considered to be biased and should be removed from the credit report by the collection agency.

But if the calculation is verified with proper justifications, paying off the debt will improve your credit report.
