BCR collection agency - Do they have a good reputation?

I have also had the same experience with BCR collections. Since 1/23/08 I have talked to them eight times and they have called my house many more times. I have asked them to stop because the person they ask for does not live here and I have never heard of the person they ask for. I have had the same number for more than 20 years. I have asked them not to call and each time they agree but continue to call. I have called the numbers back and have been hung up on and each time the person is rude. When I do talk to someone who seems as though they are listening, they tell me I have been removed from the list.

I am having the same problem with this BCR Collection Agency. I tell them the person they are asking for does not exist at this number. I tell them to stop calling and harassing me. They say they will remove the number from their files and then the next day the calls start again. I ask for the phone number they are calling from, but they will not give it to me. I don't have called ID because I can't afford the extra ten dollars per month it costs. How do I get these people to leave me alone ???

Have the same problems with these people. With my phone service I am able to forward select phone numbers to a different number. I have directed all of BCR collection's phone numbers to a 1-800 adult number and they still call every day.

Here is a quick answer for you. If your son owes a bill, give up the information as to where he is, and THEN tell them to stop calling. If your son is getting ANY mail at your home, or uses your home number for ANYTHING at all, you will continue to get calls for him daily.

It seems that a bunch of us are dealing with abusive calling from BCR debt collection...they have called my cell phone 11 times in the last 2 days (and I had already asked them to stop calling me, I don't even know the person they are asking for and I have had this phone number for over 7 years). Here's my idea...maybe if we email or call the local better business bureau, city council, mayor, attorney general etc in their hometown...that might get us some relief. Here are some links.

First if you have your number on the Do not call list go in their and report them, next get with you local Better Business Bureau online and make a case on them. Next will be the cease and desist request in writing and send it to bcr collection agency address via certified mail. It serves as the 3rd warning according to the courts and next you can open up a civil law suit more likely to win because you have done all three things first before going into the court process. I just started getting calls from them for someone I have never heard of in my life and I think it could be people could be writing down random numbers for contact info because they do plan on defrauding companies. So when they hire these collections people they keep calling because I believe they don't believe you since the people who give them these false contacts until you take the right channels to stop there calls.

I just received a call from bcr collections. No body was on the other end, so i called back the number on the caller id and was put on hold three times befor talking with someone. I explained the call. They try to say my name was Paul Webb. When i explained who i was and demanded they take my number out of thier data base and told them if i received any more calls that i will call the better business bureau and call the attorney general of the state i live in. which i keep these numbers on hand just for these cases.

Save the number(s) to your contacts (name them crank or monkeybutt)
Then assign them a silent ringtone, you'll never hear from them again. :)

Im having trouble with bcr-try to make a payment for my att account-Im on limited income but they will not except my payment which i can afford

i received calls from this number for well over a week and today was the first time i was the first time i actually spoke to someone. every other time someone called from this number, no one was on the other end.
the person speaking said their name was briska (sp?) and that she was calling in regards to a personal business matter for someone not even tied to my phone. she claims to be with bcr, which i received half-a-dozen harassing calls from from a different number (915-440-0036) for close to a week asking for someone not tied to my phone.
both people refused to give any details and only said that they were with bcr even though the two numbers they are calling from are in two completely different states.

I have also received calls time and again looking for the previous owner. I purchased my home over 6 years ago. I have told them this time and again. I now have reported it to the no call list, https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx, just to have it on record. I also filed a complaint with the FTC, https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/. I also filed a complaint with my Attorney General office for my state. Just Google, Office of the Attorney General, for your state and file a complaint. If all else fails I am filling a complaint with the US Attorney's office,
http://www.justice.gov/ag/. The idea of being amoral and not paying ones' bill is what causes the rest of us with moral fiber and paying our own bills, to be harassed by these unscrupulous companies.

The same EXACT thing happened to me. I purchased a house and my phone number used to belong to someone who did not pay their bills. They called for years..

Unfortunately, I was forced to figure out what my rights were, and on the last conversation, I can not remember what I said, but something to the effect that they are violating such and such a law, and they stopped.

I am figuring out that most collection agencies out there are illegal. If everyone knew what their rights were and took the time to SUE, more collection agencies would be owing rather than collecting.

I am learning that the collection agency law firms, seem to be the only real legit companies that actually follow through with law suits,e tc.. and are interestd in collecting the debt.

I found this info on the internet and I called many times repetedly (I pressed option #2 about responding to a phone call I recieved from them) and I left a message for Mr. Sarim then called back and whoever answered hung up on me, the next time i was mocked by an employee, then finally I got a person to say that she'd remove my number from thier list.

Just be persistant..... at least it's an 800 number

I have to say, the BCR has been harassing us about someone who doesn't exist as far as I know, but I got through their convoluted system to get through all of their hoops to get my number removed, here's hoping it worked...

I just got my phone # and since then, I receive daily calls. They keep asking for my X-Wife father and my sister. I hadn't spoke to my sister in years and don't know where she is and my X-Wife father, I hadn't spoke to him since my wedding. I have told BCR this and they said they will take me off the list. Guess they forgot. To the employee of BCR who is replying to these comments, How do you get it threw your thick heads to stop calling? I would give up info on my sister and my x-wifes father if I had any.

I too have been getting calls, almost on a regular basis to my cell phone. I had no idea who the number belonged to until I found this site. I even tried to do a reverse lookup online and with an operator. To no avail, all I got out of it was that the number was from Washington,D.C.

After some 6 months of receiving calls from these people who say they are looking for "Jose", I went to their web site WWW.bcr.com . I got an automated system that finally asked for a "extension number". I pressed 0 (zero) and got an operator that connected me with a guy that promiced he would have my cell number removed from the list. We'll see. At least he was not some rude $6 and hour jerk that just hangs up if you ask questions.

Well, I pay but that's your choice. I do like your Idea on silent ring. I'll try it.

I don't know what they want, I don't owe anyone any money,I can't UNDERSTAND them, they do not speak very good English and would not let me talk to a supervisor. So far, I tell them I can't understand them and to put someone one the phone who can speak English and they hang up.

Are you sick and tired of them calling you, well try calling them every chance you can get and tell them you are a collection agency and you are looking to collect a debt from them and see how they like it.

Wow I feel a bit better knowing that its not something I did to get this kind of harassment. I too am getting 4-5 calls a day from this BCR and have taken the first few steps on trying to get them on my do not call list and filing complaints. Thanks for all of the advise

i am so sick of these people calling my sons number who is a minor. i called the number back several times and was hung up on every time i asked if the call was recorded. they will not stop calling the number.

i have been getting 3-10 calls a day from them. i just flat out don't answer, until they use a phone number in my area code and then i get a recording to call them. its getting a little old!

Got little card from bcr saying i owe att wireless 41.36 bought will settle for 31 dollars never new had bill untill got my credit report i called att and they said would settle for 38 dollars i e mailed this bcr 3 times that i would settle for 18 dollars that did not reply i will e mail them until they do reply

These creeps call my Cell every day using up minutes from 202-607-2733 & 2744-Reporting to the "DO NOT CALL" lists does nothing ...
Anybody with info on these people PLEASE POST info on them and let's get a CLASS-ACTION lawsuit going ... I have several attornies that will handle this Pro-Bono (FREE)

I think they must be the latest game in town. Never have heard of them either, till they started calling me from both Minnesota and their 202 #. I told them this.
If you want me to pay the bill do this. Get me a job. I have been out of work for over 2 yrs because of the economy and because of my age. I have no bank accounts, no money in the bank, that you can take, no house or car in my name. So there is nothing for you to take.

If you can, either block it on your phone, so they can't call you. Or on your cell phone # do this. Title the # with a name on it, that way when they call you, you know who it is, and you can just cancel the #. It works every time.:):(

I keep seeing this one statement from various people here. BCR is calling the wrong # and won't listen when you tell them that its the wrong #. This is typical of collection agency. They are not going to listen to you anyways. Do this. I did this, when I got my Cell # and some internet radio company kept calling my # and it was for someone else.

I got tired of them calling and got tired of telling them that they had the wrong #.
Did some research on the internet to find out, where the # was and who or what was this company and who the CEO was. yes the CEO, as that person is head of the company and responsible for the operations of the company.

The next time they called, I said this.
You have been calling and calling this # for this person and I keep telling you I don't know who this person is, and they no longer have this #.
Do you understand what I'm saying. Do you understand English. If you don't then we can hire an intrepreter and I am sure that intrepreter will tell you in plain english that that person is no longer here, now do you get the picture, I hope you do.

Any more calls, I go to the CEO of the company, and when I'm through, you might not have a job, or your company might not no longer be here. Get the picture folks.

I have been trying to get them to stop calling me for almost a year now. After much wasted time I've decided to make lemonade. :) I've actually started recording the calls and messing with the Indian representatives as long as possible before they pass me onto their American counter-parts. :) When that happens then I start to act like I can't hear them, ask them to speak louder (several times), then I suddenly tell them to stop screaming!! LOL!!! It's getting funnier & funnier every call. So I'm making a website so that I can upload these conversations and other people can get a kick out of them too. anyway just add their numbers to your phone as "Fun Time" and chose to take the call or not, it makes boring days fun sometimes. :)

Hilarious. I'm glad I Googled the number that came up on my caller ID. Reading these comments has been funny and educational. Now I know how to handle these jerks. LOL
