SSM Group LLC has overdrawn my bank account. How to stop them?

I have several internet pdls that I'm trying to pay off. One is through someone called SSM Group LLC. I do not have any record of this company and I've never even heard of them. They (along with other pdls) have overdrawn my account $500. Does anyone have contact information for SSM Group llc?

Personally, since this is an unlicensed/illegal company and they are still "messing" with you regarding debiting your account, I would wait. I wouldn't send them a thing until this whole thing is cleared up. Just my opinion.

I wouldn't send them anything either. Especially SSM Group. I just received a call from them and they are no longer going to debt my account and that my account with them is PIF!. They actually said that I didn't have anything noted on the account to where I couldn't borrow anymore from them and that if I needed their services in the future to contact them and they will help me again. Yeah right!

YAY, SStacey!!! I'm glad you got that settled. Did you laugh at them on the phone?

I'm not sure how far in advance these withdrawals have to be set up so I'm not sure if SJM Marketing set this up yesterday after getting my fax or the other day when that lady got snotty with me and I got snotty back. (I don't handle snotty people very well.)

Yeah..........the lady got snotty with me yesterday as well but today she was very nice and I think the words "I'm sorry!" came out of her mouth 15 times in a 10 minute converstaion.
I hope you see im_screwed, you can win! So I see that 2 of us today got a PIF! That's wonderful news! I have a lot to be thankful for tomorrow that's for sure.

I heard back from SSM Group. I feel like replying to this lady's email and letting her know I never saw these loan documents before and had to search for information online to even find the company. Here is her reply:

"I have forwarded your information to the lender. I am forwarding your loan packet, please refer to the governing law which is listed on your loan note and disclosure. The laws your are referring to is pay day loan companies which run their business in your state. If you have any questions or concerns after reading over your paper work, please feel free to ask me.

Kristina"

I got a response from them. Evidently they want me to buy a pre-paid visa? How should I respond to this? Should I get a pre-paid visa to make payments? They are still refusing to give me a mailing address.

"ok i apologize for the lack of reponse but we do not accept money orders. you will need to purchase a pre-paid visa to make your payments. if you were going to obtain a money order then just purchase a pre-paid card it the same thing."

I have dealt with Kristina. I want you all to know that I have successfully gotten my overpayment and overdraft fees back as of yesterday! I am excited!

Dumplin - How much did you borrow and how much have you paid in? I have just let my bank take over and they got all my money back! I have been on cloud 9 ever since.

THought this might help- EME is also PlatinumB Services aka SJM Marketing. Found this out by getting the same person when I called there as I was calling another place.

Believe it or not, they have yet another name, Nevis Marketing.

ok I'm officially freaking out about all of this.

I was surfing online for the possible OPTION of a pdl to help my husband and I get through a VERY rough patch (our geothermal well broke we had no hot water and no heat...we were desperate).

Anyway I have had experience with pdls before but the one place I fully trusted apparently can no longer opperate in Oregon so I tried to find a place that could...I didn't realize that these things could be illegal..I am such an idiot I can't believe this,..

Anyway normal pdls have you fill out paperwork and then they make a loan "offer" and you accept or deny it. Problem is I found a site that apparently has no such thing...I filled out the form and waited for the page to pop up askin g me to accept the loan or not and it never came..instead I got emails from 17 different companies telling me I had been approved for the loan and the money would be in my account by the following Monday (all this happened on a Friday) I was able to tell all but ONE company that I did not want the loan and to cancel it immediately..they all said they did and nothing has happened in my account as of yet. However the one place I didn;t get to the phone to in time was SSM group which came up on my caller id as OSL Marketing. My husband and I decided to keep that loan for $250 and just make sure to fax them a letter stating that they need to take the entire principal amount (plus a $75 fee apparently) on our due date.

I called the company to be sure that we would be able to do that and the lady on the phone said we could and said that our funds would be in our account by monday unless our bank has an ach that delivers on saturdays. Well it is now Tuesday and we don't have the money and I looked over the "contract" they sent me via email that states that the fuinds are not guaranteed by any date or time. So what am I supposed to do sit around and worry about when they are actually going to send the money to my account?

And now I read these threads and find that they are probably unlicensed/illegal and I'm biting my nails hoping that they don;t just start charging my account without ever sending me any money or anything...

What can I do?

I am from Oregon
My pdl is with SSM Group/OSL Marketing
My pdl amount is $250.00
Total payoff amount is $325.00
payment due date is 12/21/2007

Please help...

Well, garnetcox, you can wait and see if the money shows up tonight maybe. SSM/OSL is one of the ugly ones. I'm not going to lie to you. If you do get the funds, make sure you have them debit the entire amount due on one date. If you can, get it in writing. These guys will not be licensed/legal. Watch your account closely. And, I'll be honest, if you do receive the funds and they debit the correct amount on the correct date (which I will find amazing!), I would close that bank account so fast, your head would spin. You do NOT want these people to have access to your bank account. Right now we can only hope for the best. Since the money hasn't shown up yet, there's nothing to do yet. Unless you want to call them and tell them to take the money back right now. Just tell them you "changed your mind". Or you can have your bank reject the deposit. Either way, take the money or return the money, these guys still have your bank account information. I, for one, would not want them to have mine.

One of the pdls (Paycheck Today) has turned me over to a collections agency. Of course, the amount they have is not the amount I told them I would pay in the letter I faxed and emailed. What should I do? I contacted the collection agency and told them I had a different amount. I'm supposed to fax them a copy of this letter. Any suggestions? Or should I post this on the collections agency board?

Ashley, they are a pay day loan comapny. Here is the phone number listed at the top of the page.SSM Group, LLC 866-516-3100 . Did you apply for or do you have a pdl with another company? If not, You need to go back through your bank statements and see if they deposited anything in to your account and you most certainly need to dispute this debit with your bank if you have never applied or agreed to a loan with this company, problem is, they will continue to debit your account no matter what you do. You are more than likely going to have to close the account and open another. Internet pdl's are prohibited in KY so you do have that on your side. Please check on the stuff I have posted and let us know what is going on. You also may want to start your own thread so it will be easier for us and you to find you again. There are several members from KY who can help walk you through this and answer any of your questions.

If you find out who ssm group, llc is please let me know. they have debited my account for what seems like forever. I know I have paid back all fee's. But I don't even know how to get ahold of them to find out what is going on. Most companies email a statement every once in a while at least.

Unfortunately they may continue to debt your accounts if they remain open. You might want to read the sticky at the top of the forum about closing your bank account. Meanwhile someone should be along soon to answer your questions. You can also do a search about SSM on this site and maybe you will find more info

I applied on line via SSM Group LLC, when they called me they denied me a loan due to having a savings account rather than a checking account. three days later they deposited $300 into my account and I haven't been able to get in touch with them to stop the $90 (twice a month) payments...I've now paid them $660. I never signed a loan agreement. Never received the paperwork!!! Should I close my savings account and move on?

Wow, I needed to find info on SSM and you all helped alot.

I'm from Florida and I applied for a payday loan through CashNetUSA for $450. My account ended up going into the negative (due to my own stupidity) and I found out after the fact that there was a deposit from SMM for $250. Both companies keep repeatedly try to take multiple withdrawals out of my account and because of SMM, It's impossible to ever get my account back in the positive.

I already talked to my bank today and they told me I should get my account balanced and they'd close it to open a new one. It's impossible with all the NSF fees they keep racking up (and my bank won't take any of them off...even though this company was never authorized to touch my account.) If anyone can help me with letters to take away their ACH privledges, that would be very helpful since my bank can't do it. (They said they could, but NSF fees would still be posted to my account...explain that one to me.)

Due to my banks advice, I have contacted Florida's Attorney General to see what help and advice they can give me. I even downloaded the list of companies licensed in Florida and couldn't find CashNetUSA (or their parent company) or SSM Group, LLC licensed.

I hope to hear back form the AG soon.

I spoke to them at 866-463-2130...melissa
She advised me that when your due date somes, they continually debit your acct a "renewal" fee until you authorize them to apply mnies to your actual loan. What kind of hooey is that? Who wants to continualy renew a payday loan...that is totally not the concept of said loan. Anyhooooooo..that is the # to speak to customer service..they claim to have emailed me with the terms..which they didnt...and "re-sent" them today...4 months later..so now, after $450.00 dollars going nowhere..they want me to arrange to pay my loan. I am ticked..asked for a supervisor...will probably get no satisfaction...
Anyway according to the terms, you are supposed to conact them by email, phone, or fax to actually have payments applied to your loan...i am still cussing....
