Hello, First of all , my balance is $417.50 not $437.50 At this time I am not able to agree to this agreement. I do not have and will not have the full balance by the date given. With it being almost christmas time, this is not even a possibility. I understand that Collection procedures will continue until an acceptable payment arrangement has been made. But I also understand (as I recently said in my email) that you must offer payment arrangements that we both can agree on, and at this moment I am not accepting this agreement. As I also, stated in my email, I am revoking your right to debit my checking account any longer. You, your company, or your affiliates are not authorized to debit my checking account at all. Please be aware that I have informed my financial institution of this situation and they will also be receiving a copy of this correspondence. Any further attempts at debiting my account will be rejected by my financial institution. And if payments do go through I am prepared to take the neccessary steps to reverse those charges as you are no longer authorized to do so. As soon as we reach an agreement I will send in my payments but I will not (I Will not budge on this issue)use these: Bank Account - Credit/Debit Card - MoneyGram - Western Union I am only willing to send in money orders as I will not give you access to any of my info. |
(name removed for your safety. cannr)
I am no longer freaking out here as I am learning on how to deal with these people.
Am I doing this right?

I think you're doing great, but I disagree with you on not being willing to use MoneyGram or Western Union. They don't get any of your personal information when you use those and they are much more easily traceable than a money order - especially when the lender says "We never received your payment . . ."

I disagree, Granny. It doesn't cost much more than buying a money order and sending it certified mail, return receipt requested. And I've heard too many people say they sent money orders to companies only to get caught in a "he said, she said" when the lender denies receiving it.

I am sorry if I sound dumb.....but how does one use money grams? I have never heard of them. Where and how much does it cost to use a money gram?

Tina, You can do Moneygram at most Wal MArt service desks. This is info from their web site:

MoneyGram offers a wide variety of payment products and services, from the traditional money order and official check services to the latest in electronic bill payment and money transfer services. How much does this cost? Currently, it costs from $0.00 to $9.95, depending on the company you wish to pay. You will want to verify the correct transaction fee with that company or ask your MoneyGram ExpressPayment agent for more information |
here is the web site if you want to do more research:

I use it to pay people whom I do not want to give my account information to. And I have never had a problem.

Freakyfriday-I can see your point on WUQC (western union quick collect) or Moneygram not getting personal info, but it is certainly cheaper to send a USPS Traceable money order via certified mail than it is WUQC or Moneygram. Moneygram is $24.00 to send $400 and WUQC is $12.95.

Another way of payment to consider are either prepaid visa or mastercards you can purchase or disposable credit card numbers that certain creditors allow you to use. I have these with Citi,Bank of America, and Discover. What is great about them is you can limit it by dollar amount, time,or number of transactions.
