Practical INFO YOU CAN USE TO FIGHT CITIBANK

So i'm taking action. You can too.
Credit card companies cannot send open ended credit without your permission. This is a violation of Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act. I believe there are penalties involved and am researching this currently. I tried to attach the links, but they kept getting stripped off... Go to Google and Type in "FDIC Consumer Protection Subpart Bâ€â€Open-End Credit § 226.5" for the complete code.
The OCC (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency)documentation cabe be assesses by typing in OCC Consumer Complaints. Here's what else I'm doing:
1. I am writing the OCC (Office of Comptroller of the Currency) and filing a formal complaint:
OCC
Customer Assistance Group
1301 McKinney Street
Suite 3450
Houston, TX 77010
Phone: 1-800-613-6743
FAX: 713-336-4301
2. I am also filing a formal on-line complaint with the OCC.
3. I am writing to Citibank's new Chairman (effective November 5, 2007) Robert Rubin. Rubin was formally the Secretary if the U.S. Treasury and Citibank has been under fire for trade practice (among other things). I will post the address tomorrow as soon as I confirm with a phone call to his office. The Comptroller of the Currency letter will be included in the complaint, along wiht my documentation and a return receipt. THIS COMPLAINT IS REQUIRED TO BE LOGGED and reviewed by the OCC auditors.
4. I am taking my documentation the the Better Business Bureau personally as well as filing on on-line complaint.
5. I will contact my local newspaper (the Orlando Sentinel) and all the local media outlets on December 1st, 2007 with my documentation and any response from Citibank (should they "make things right" I will not pursue any further action - I think it's important to be credible and give them adequate time to respond. Being reactive, rude, or not having full documentation does not produce results).
6. I have already filed a fraud alert with the 3 reporting agencies and completed the longer documentation forms sent by each.
7. I have requested documentation from Citibank to provide to my lender with no relief as of yet - but armed with my research from tonight, I am confident my call to the Citibank's Legal Affairs department tomorrow (instead of "Customer Service") will yield different results.
8. I am copying my correspondance to the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking CHairman Dodd and my two U.S. Senators and representative.
With the increased scruntity on the number of Americans losing their homes to credit issues, THE TIME IS RIGHT for holding these credit issuers accountable for their violations.
Hope this is helpful.

I am a bit confused as to why you're so mad as CitiBank. Did they send you a credit card that you did not sign for? and B) does this credit card somehow have a security interest in your house?
You might also complain to the FTC and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

Isn't Citibank the bank that bought out another and took over all credit cards such as Macy's cc's and such? I remember reading that people were finding new info on their credit reports of cc's they had NO knowledge of and had no cc.... If i'm not mistaken this was caused by the buy outs

I had a Marshall Fields' card that I opened about 5 years ago, my only purpose opening it was to get 10% off my purchase that day (some cologne). I paid the card off at the end of the month and never used it again. Sometime in 2004 Marshall Fields stopped reporting the account to my credit report.
When Macy's bought Marshall Fields, the account popped back up on my credit report as a "new account" through Macy's. For the time being, I'm just leaving it - they are giving me good marks.

So it's in your benefit to keep it but obviously it was NOT in her favor as it hit her scores!
Off topic for a sec, woke up this morning, turned on tv and there was a debt book, (infomercial) with Kevin Tordeau... was quite interesting but a little costly also...
Any comments on him?
Guess i should post this in another thread as to not hijack this one!

Kevin Trudeau I think is a scammer. Probably when I was about 10 or 11 he did these books-on-tape called "Mega Memory". My dad bought them and made us do it as a family thing to try to boost our memeroy. It was a crock and didn't do $#!t.
Just google Kevin Trudeau -- he's got another side that he doesn't want people to know about.

If I was a mod in this forum I would "split" these posts into its own topic, but not one of my forums ...
Never mind -- mod in this forum, feel free to delete my replies. I replied in the new post Ang made.
