Children's books

I have this on my credit report from a delinquet account from back in 2000 I ordered some diney children books for my daughter and they ket it on my credit.I also have this bill that I just got from this place called turtle magazineand I don't remember suscribing to this magazine or even getting it and now they are sending me a bill!Well how do I dispute this does anyone know?

need help badly with this issue

Contact the magazine or book company and explain that you didn't subscribe to it and didn't ask to be sent any items from them. If it's on your credit report, you'll definitely have to dispute it which is certainly an option. They'll investigate it, and if the book company cannot validate that you requested anything, it will be removed from your credit report.

Also, please check if the said debt is within the period of statute of limitations. In which state is this debt supposed to be taken place? The statute of limitation period will be calculated from the date of last activity and the state where it has taken place.

If it is past the SOL period, you can force them to stop all the collection efforts. Also, ask them to produce all the legitimate details of the said debt. If they are unable to produce it, the negative remark has to vanish from your credit report.

You can take the sample letters of correspondence from this forum as well as from the letters section kept in this site.
