Welcome to the Community :D I am not sure about Canadian procedures, but these are threats they, and others use. Make notes of everything that was said, times and dates for your records.
Are these type of loans legal where you are?I am assuming so, with your agreement to pay.
Keep all correspondence with them, especially the ones that say you are making arrangements, that it will be paid in full, etc.
Good luck-feel free to ask questions,we are here to help. I wouldn't be worried about someone arresting you, there are no debtors prisons here anymore-and I don't think Canada has them either  karen

Thank you so much for responding and yes, this was a payday loan and they are legal here. I borrowed $350 and agreed to pay $980 Nov 30.
Question: Has this man that called you mailed you proof of this
Question: Has this man that called you mailed you proof of this debt? If not, request for a debt verification letter next time he calls. But be prepared for a lot of verbal abuse the moment you request one, as well as stronger threats of jail and court. It's the standard M.O. of this company.
However, if by some reason they actually send you a debt validation, I would love to hear about it. They claim they send them out when requested, but hundreds of people have posted on this website about them being rude and making strong threats unless the debt is paid. If you have an agreement with the original PDL, call them and verify that the payment plan is still in effect and active, and then notify them that this company (also known as "The Law Office" and "Liability Solutions") is attempting to collect on the debt.

I have contacted the company I owe the money to regarding the payment plan they told me they are in the process of "straitening it out" with the collection company - My daughter who is 15 called the man back yesterday while I was at work and spoke to him crying - she told him of the plan I have with the original company - when she started to cry - he told her that they do this to scare people. They have not mailed me anything - I even asked the man on the phone to fax me something and he refused.
Exactly - just like I suspected they would. By refusing to valid
Exactly - just like I suspected they would. By refusing to validate the debt, they are violating the Fair Debt Collection law of Canada. You can read a non-legalese version here:
gov.on.ca/MGS/en/ConsProt/STEL02_045978.html
You can see it says:
They HAVE to send you written information on the debt via postal mail. Don't fall for their crap. Let them each voice mail and work with the original debtor.
