The authorized check got returned

I recently took out a paydayloan in arkansas. On 15 aug. the check ($385) returned. What all can happen and what should i do?

You will find the Payday loan laws for Arkansas here (just select your state),

http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/explain-pdls-laws.html

Please list who the pdl was with, was this a store front or a internet pdl, the company name, do not list any personal data. Why was the check returned did you not have sufficient funds in your account? You need to contact them if this is a store front pdl which is likely legal and licensed in your state. They will and are likely to sue if they don't have any communication and payment arrangements with you.

Someone else will be along shortly to advise you further, but I would suggest reading what I just sent you. Good luck.

anthony, I am assuming this is with a store front in your state. As you posted the "check". A check would mean a store front, not an internet loan. Ladybug posted your state law. In your state, criminal action is prohibited UNLESS you closed the account or put a stop payment on the check. If your check was returned for NSF fees (you didn't close your account or stop payment on the check) they will most likely charge you a NSF fee plus the amount of your check. Now that you know it's been returned by the bank, contact the store front. Let them know you're aware of the bank returning the check. Ask them to be able to make payments on the check. Please, please contact them. If you do not contact them, they may take further action against you. Call the manager and ask about payments. If your not up for a phone call, write them a letter explaining you know your check was returned and would like to set up payment to pay it in full. Let them know you are aware that you owe this debt and intend on paying it back. Do not "hide" from them. This kind of makes them mad. Please contact them and ask about payments. If it was just returned for NSF fees, you don't qualify as "criminal action" since you didn't close your account or stop payment on the check. So, contact them and acknowledge it's been returned. Work out a payment plan with them. Please let us know how it goes.
