Received a phone call today from someone asking me to call them back at 800-918-3849. I could barely make out the message left as the diction was so bad. Anyway I called back and they said that I needed an attorney. When I asked what for, they said I had just better get one. Then they rolled off an old account number of mine that has been closed for over a year and a half, due to fraud. When I asked them who they were they refused to identify themselves other than to say that they were FTR Processing and that they were going to call my employer. I said go right ahead because I have nothing to lose. Of course I called my employer and told them of the threatening phone call. I'd like to know if anyone has had any dealings with these people. I called the BBB and I am reporting them to my AG and the AG of the state of Kansas.[font=Tahoma][/font][color=Violet][/color][size=3][/size]

You have done the right thing by reporting to your AG and the BBB. Now, you have to do something to stop them calling you. I heard that they are some collection agency who tries to collect on disputed accounts. You have the rights to ask them for the details of the account in writing if their collection is legit. You won't pay on something that's said to you verbally. If they continue to call, record their phone calls and consult with an attorney.

FTR/States Services

I received one more call last week at home and when I returned to my job today, I found a message from the same number, only using another name. They called my place of business three times last week. They switch names all the time it seems. Now I have to find out where this States Services is located. Who do I report these people to if they keep changing names? This time the girl left her name as Meghan Swartz at ext.410.
