UnitedCash...they called me at work!
Got a call transferred to me at work from UnitedCashLoans...spoke to a very nice young man by the name of Mark Robbins. He told me that he had been made aware (gee, by the 1,000 emails I've sent or by the certified letter?) that I was unhappy with certain aspects of my loan.
He offered to let me pay off the principal and when I asked how much that was (I know EXACTLY how much I've paid and its the principal + a couple of nominal fees) he put me on hold.
He promptly returned to tell me that in order to find that information out, I would have to log into their website AND that he was trying to keep my account from going into their recovery department!
First, I let him know that I was aware that they were a d.b.a. of MTE Financial and not licensed in Florida. Then, I told him that even if they WERE licensed, they were violating the law in this state regarding internet loans. I further advised him that since I had not received a single response to my many emails or to my certified letter, that I had filed a complaint with my AG, who seemed very interested in their operations. I also informed him that in that certified letter, I had expressly told them NOT to contact me at work and that if they did so again, I would file numerous other complaints with every other agency I could find.
He responded by saying that all of the above was "neither here nor there" and that he was giving me an opportunity to settle a debt. I told him that it was DEFINITELY HERE AND THERE, that they were operating illegally and if they wanted to communicate with me any further - even regarding an offer of repayment, they would have to do it via USPS so that I could make a copy for the AG and my personal attorney.
HE THANKED ME AND HUNG UP! I didn't even get a chance to say good-bye!
Now, I'm not naive enough to believe for a SECOND that this is the last I'll hear from these folks but...it felt AWESOME to have my s*** together when they called and for that, I have a whole bunch of you guys to thank!
So, THANK YOU! :D

Good work. Don't forget the FLDFS if you haven't filed a complaint there yet! They are getting very active due to our members complaints.

I love what you told them! Good for you! I've been VERY lucky in that since I've "defaulted" on my loans with them (even though I overpaid by significant amounts), I haven't heard a word.

How long did it take for them to finally call you. I've had my account closed for over a month now and have only heard from one of my unlicensed PDLs. But I have UnitedCash too! Wondering when I'll be hearing from them....
And I think I'll copy and print what you said to them as a quick reference for when they do call me! It was excellent!

Hey, Pokogeo: I closed my account on June 21st but, they contacted me at home about a month ago. That time, it was to let me know I had defaulted. When I hit the young lady with the same information, she stated that I had to speak with a manager but that one wasn't readily available!

United Cash Loans
I closed my account in May 2007 I only heard from 500 fastcash and I settled with them for $95 (I overpaid them and they owed a refund of $30) I just wanted tl get rid of them. Well, nlow I am getting a phone call from United cast and they leave a message in my answering machine that they want for me to call them to settle a matter. Well, I had received in the past an email on which they told me that they had closed my account, would not ach (because I had blocked them) the account and that I would be banned from doing business with any of their affiliates ( so I faxed tham the copy of their email and I have not heard from them so far.Hopefully they will leave me alone. They probably thought that since I settled with 500 Fastcash I was going to do the same thing with them. Now I am sure they are going to try again with One Click Cash

shey, they will argue your head off. They will say (as you have found) you are bound by their state law, they are not MTE, blah, blah. Keep holding strong. You'll be hearing from them again. However, it might be by email next. Which would be a good thing since you'll have documentation. You'll need this especially with anything regarding MTE. Anything you can get in writing, keep it. It shows how they go around in circles and it also shows the lies. Stay strong and do not back down. You did GOOD!
spanisheyes, you'll be contacted again. If you're taking their calls, they'll call you. If you're not, they'll email you. Try to do everything via email.
P.S. Shey - document that telephone call. Write down everything you can remember about it. Keep it.

Hey, Cannr! I know you're right! But, since I also know that there's nothing they can do to me, I'll just follow your advice and keep records of every scrap of paper (of which I have but ONE!) The rest are just emails.
BTW, I could stare at that hot-doggie ALL day long!

guest, when contacting United Cash Loans via USPS, use this address:
United Cash Loans
3531 P St NW
Miami, OK 74355
However, they are a d/b/a of MTE Financial. But MTE Financial doesn't acknowledge a lot of thier d/b/a's. So MTE Financial's address is:
MTE Financial
515 G SE
Miami, OK 74355

But that should start up real soon. I've been writing down the names and dates they've called or left me a message too.
