866-504-7548 - Does this number from Web payday?

You guys are NOT going to believe this! Or maybe you will... I just got a telephone call from some man named Mr. Martez and left the phone number 1-866-504-7548. I called back (feeling frisky). They answered the phone as PDM. I googled the number first, nothing came back. He informed me that he was calling regarding an "outstanding pay day loan" with Web Pay Day. He wanted to give me a "courtesy call" before pursuing further "legal" action on my "outstanding balance" of $120.00. I sweetly replied to Mr. Martez "Ummm. No. I have a copy of a letter from Web Pay Day stating this account is paid in full. I also have their response to the BBB and also their response to my state AG. And, by the way, they REFUNDED me my overpayment for illegal charges. Would you like a copy of this information?" Stutter, stutter, stutter. He said "Uh, yes, I would. I don't understand why they would turn this over to us if that is the case." I told him sweetly "You will have your fax tomorrow." He said he will "get this straighted out". Oh, Mr. Martez, what would I do without you???? You're going to "straighten out" my illegal pay day loan? Oh, my goodness, thank you. Can you believe these jerks? Web Pay Day was the first one to refund me for my overpayment. And to be quite honest, I do have all the documentation; however, I'm not going to go out of my way to dig it all out and fax it to some illegal collection agency regarding an illegal pay day loan. It did throw me though. Them calling me at work. Of course I answered and said I wasn't here! LOL! Then I called back like someone had given me a message. Here we go!!!!!!!!!

Oh, you guys, this was "settled" MONTHS ago! And, I forgot to add, that Mr. Martez didn't even know his fax number. HELLO!!!! So, watch even the ones who mark you PIF or even send you a refund. Apparently they still "send you" to a nice illegal collection agency - or - they "sell" your information to a nice illegal collection agency. Whichever. Doesn't matter to me. I guess this is a never ending cycle. I hate to say that, but even the ones you think you're "done" with come back months later to haunt you! Let alone the ones who never respond, so you have no clue as to what's going on. Let alone the others (MTE, anyone?) who continue to debit CLOSED accounts for 5 months. Lord have mercy......

Oh, I just typed out a "nice" letter to my friend Mr. Martez. It will be on the fax in the morning. For anyone who gets contacted by these idiots, I'm posting the information on who they are. I had to DIG to find any information on them, as they refused to give me information on their company when I asked. (Nice.) Here is who they "turned over" my paid in full/refunded account to:

PDM (aka Debt Mediation/PDI Credit Collection/Professional Debt Mediation, Inc)
PO Box 47144
Jacksonville, Florida 32247 (Duval County)
4161 Carmichael Avenue, #156
Jacksonville, Florida 32207 (Duval County)
Telephones: 904-398-0286/904-596-9175
Fax: 904-398-7748

He gave me:
Telephone: 1-866-504-7548
Fax: 1-816-413-9000

I can only assume this is them. It's the only thing I could find with that name. I did inform him of this also - duh. That they wouldn't give me any company information when I asked. Does the word "illegal" pop above anyone's head here?

In my letter I stated that I am only faxing the email I received from WebPayDay stating the account was marked paid in full and a refund was issued. I stated that I did not feel the need to include any other documentation, as it is not an issue. So he's not getting squat except the email from WebPayDay. I also put on there that I am cc'ing it to the BBB, the DFI, and the AG. I really doubt I'll be hearing from them again. Oh. I probably shouldn't say that!

Thanks for the INFO Cannr and Goudah. I received a call at work from a lady who wouldn't give me her name, but she said she was from PDM and they were handling an account for Discount Advance (Credit Protection Depot). I told her not to call me at work and I would send her the same letter that I sent to Credit Protection Depot/Discount Advance (BBB, KDFI and the Ky Attorney General - she got real nasty and I said goodbye and hung up. So now I have an address to send this letter...Thanks so much!

I didn't hear that part if she said it. I was trying to get her to give me a physical address to mail my c & d letter too. But she never would identify by her name just PDM and she called back a 2nd time and I told her not to call and she ask for Human Resource Dept. I haven't heard from her since and that was Friday. (my HR dept will not do any wage assignments unless it's court ordered)

eleroo, it means nothing. They use words like "processing", "downloading", etc. It means nothing. Whenever anyone hears anything of that sort, you can be immediately tipped off that it is an illegal company calling you.

I did take a call the other day!!! Oh, I meant to tell you guys..I thought it was someone else calling or I wouldnt have answered.

So it was Cash Central, I sent them a stop calling letter, the lady says that they never got my emails, etc....So I said "ok, and what am I supposed to do because you obviously do not follow your own customer correspondence policy"...she sat there, then said "huh" I said "huh is not an answer". So then I told her that needs to explain to me in 10 words or less why I need to pay them, she just sat there and I said "times up" and I hung up.

That was fun...

Everyone here is just looking for a way to justify their inability, or blatant refusal to payback a loan when repayment was promised. I find it funny that you all try to claim these loans are illegal, and want to report them to the Better Business Bureau after the money was wired to your bank account. You are right about one thing...payday loans are "stupid", and anyone dumb enough to sign up for one deserves what they get. And don't act like you didn't know what you were getting into from the get go. Most of you have taken out payday loans in the past, and realize that they have extremely high interest rates that accrue if gone unpaid after your following pay period. And for those of you that don't understand how these loans work...INFORM YOURSELF! Go to the website and read the contract and terms. Ignorance is no longer bliss in this situation, and definitely not a valid excuse for failing to payback a loan according to terms that were laid out in front of you from the very beginning. It isn't Web Payday's fault that you failed to read the part of the contract that states you will be charged xx fees and interest if you don't pay them back during a certain period of time. You all are adults and citizens of the United States. As such you are held legally responsible for you actions, and should (and do) know better. You can try to place blame, and point fingers all you want but the bottom line is that nobody put a gun to your head making you sign up for one of these loans. All this comes back on you, and if your not going to pay back your loan why not just admit that it is your character that is flawed rather than the payday loan company that lent you money when your own families wouldn't even trust you with a dime.

P.S.-It's time to start being honest with youself.
