Hi, tina! And welcome! :D I'm sorry about your bank situation. However, we've been there, so we understand. Could you please give us a little more information? You closed your account due to pdl's? Are they store front or internet pdl's? And could you please tell us what state you reside in? We can check out the pdl laws for you. We can also go into the bank situation a little more. Please post & we can go from there! :D

I can't believe that banks do that. Goudah has a warning posted about that but unfortunately it is too late for some people. If your account is closed it should mean closed for good. There must be a rule on the books about that with the FDIC or the OCC. I would love to find out. That is just totally not fair!

I agree when a customer chooses to close their account willingly why don't they honor that request. It's a totally different story when the banks close it because of too many NSF's they don't screw around there. They immediately shut it down, oh well I guess that's one way they make money is by charging an arm and a leg and 1/2 finger in nsf charges (LOL)

gin, your bank and my bank must be on the same "wavelength". My account was "forced" open again after closing it due to pdl debits. However, I have to check my account every morning to make sure nothing is on there (yes, it's closed AGAIN). But they have a certain time frame in which to work. You have to catch these FAST and get your butt to the bank and fight it ASAP. They can get them reversed off if you act quickly enough. However, some banks are total retards and will still keep the debits on there, keep the NSF fees on there, etc. Unbelievable.
