nk9, boy, you make me work! :D Ashland Funding is apparently a d/b/a of a "parent" company. I at least got a telephone number of 1-866-722-2770. Now, when I put this telephone number in the BBB site, three "pdl companies" come up. So, Ashland Funding must be a d/b/a of one of them. The three listed are Platinum B, SJM Marketing, and EZ PayDay. Did you have a loan with any of those names? And, here is contact information for Churchill Resolution.

Thanks Cann, ive read some of your other posts and found them helpful. Problem is, all i see on my bank statement is Ashland Funding. And I just need an approach when I call these people.. theyve taken 240 out so im tempted to just send them 20 dollars and let em go pound salt. Just for being deceitful about this whole thing. I dont know if what they are doing is legal and therefore I cant make an approach. Do we know if this is something i can dispute or am i forced to sit here and take it because of some CSO loophole crap?
Thanks again.

Why am I thinking there is no way on God's green earth that these people are licensed as a pdl or a CSO? What have you got to lose? You've already blocked them from your account. You've paid over the principle amount. Send them a letter telling them to "pound salt"! LOL! Why do you want to send them another $20? You've already overpaid the principle amount. Send them a letter telling them to "pound salt" and include no money with it.

Also on this statement i have from Churchill Resolutions, they oh so conveniently placed the wrong number down.. 1866 365 8091 when i guess its supposed to be 265. Given everything ive seen and heard so far, its hard to pass this off as coincidence.

alright i suppose that'll work. i was thinking 20 dollars because theyve been charging me 60 in interest and im only at 240. BUT i looked at the laws for florida and if im not reading incorrectly.. it says that the limit is 15 per 100?.. isnt this like twice the legal amount of interest?

nk9, let me also point out how so very HARD they are to even locate, let alone get in actual touch with. These are really good BIG RED FLAG's regarding what kind of companies you'r dealing with. I hate to sound like a downer, but I'm leaning towards your "pound salt". Can you tell I really like that? :D
I wouldn't send them a dime. Forget them...is my thoughts.

Does anyone have any info on Churchill Resolution? I also got a letter from them last week and today I received a phone call from them. They were pretty rude but said they will settle for $390 (which is the amount I owe on a 300 dollar pdl with the $90 fee that they charge). They insisted I do check by phone and said they would break it into two payments. I would like to get this taken care of but wonder if this company is legitimate?

I do not know if the company is legitimate but regardless I would not give them my checking information. Insist on money order or maybe even a moneygram.

meek, DO NOT GIVE THEM A CHECK BY PHONE! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION BY PHONE! NO, NO, NO! Do not give ANYONE your bank account information! You will be right back where you started from! I do not trust this company after reading what has been posted about them. I'm putting their information on here for you to see (it's on this thread). Tell them you will send them MONEY ORDERS to their address for payment. Do not, not, not give them anything related to your bank account!

You're definitely right about the bank account info but I was thinking since my bank has been so good, my old account (the one the pdls have)is still open but they're blocking EVERYTHING in or out. IF something comes through they call me and I have to personally approve it and if I do approve it they pay it with the money in my new acct. So far I have had no problems. I was thinking it wouldn't hurt to give them that info so I can get this taken care of. The phone call I got was really strange, though. The first lady that called me was very nice, I refused to give my acct info and requested moneygram. She said this would be fine and asked me to hold while she confirmed the payment arrangement with her supervisor. The "supervisor" then got on the phone and said they don't do moneygram, that the first lady I talked to was new and she apologized that she gave me incorrect information. The "supervisor" was kind of rude, stated that I gave my acct info to get the pdl, I shouldn't have a problem giving it now, blah blah blah. Luckily they aren't trying to get an astronomical amount of money out of me ($390 for a $300 pdl) and I did receive a letter from them prior to getting a phone call. Thought it might be safe to go ahead and do it since my old account is restricted and I wouldn't have to give my new info. What do you think?
reply
Personally, I think not. My whole point towards these pdl's is that if they want "their" money, they can give you an address to mail a money order to. If they refuse to give you a physical address, that's a HUGE red flag that they are operating illegally. Any legit business will give you their physical address. The ones trying to "hide" by not giving a physical address and only accepting account debits/money gram/western union, are illegal. They don't want anyone to know where they are located. And, just for your information, it is illegal for them to tell you that they can only accept payments via ACH debit. It is posted on this site. So the crap they are feeding you is crap. They can not tell you the only way to make payment is by bank debit. No, no, no. You don't know how many pdl's finally gave me a physical address when I refused ANY sort of payment except by sending a money order. If they want their money, they can give me an address to send it to. If they can't do that, they obviously don't want "their" money bad enough. However, this is all my personal opinion. If you really feel the need to pay these idiot people, do not give any bank account information to them. None. Not old. Not new. Get a pre-paid visa card. Give them that pre-paid visa card number. They can not track it. What they're trying to do is illegal. They can not force you to pay by bank account. I personally would hold out for a physical address. I also refuse to use money gram/western union, as that's an added cost to you, plus the fact that you don't even know where you're money is going! But, like I stated, if you really want to pay them some money, get a pre-paid visa/mastercard. Give them that card number for payments.

Actually I do have a mailing address for them since I did receive a letter in the mail. You're right, I'll just send money orders.
By the way, I thought this was funny. I received an email advertisement from some random pdl company and when I went to unsubscribe, the url was xxxxx(at)crdtbully.com. How true is that!
reply
meek, I'm glad you have a physical address! Sometimes it's like pulling teeth to get an address out of these people! My thought is that if they want their money, they'll take it by mail! Good Lord! Send in your money orders to the address. Keep track of every payment made. I'm so paranoid that I made copies of the money order, the documentation included with it, and the envelope with the address on it! Can't say I didn't cover my butt! I suggest you do the same when sending in payments. Just my advice! :D
cash loan
When you originally took out this loan did you print out the loan documents that clearly state their name and phone number? On this document it states your acct # your pay off due date and the scheduled refinance date and amount due? Also on this form on the bottom it states if you are not accepting the option to refinance you must fax or call them 3 full business days ahead of the loan date. Sorry It sounds like you took the money and ran without reading the fine print.

So get this.. after Churchill calls my place of work MULTIPLE times, attempting to contact me, they THEN call my cell phone number they have on profile. At first i wouldnt answer until i had my battle plan. I finally talked to a lady who barely spoke english who told me that they wanted 340 dollars to "settle" my 200 dollar pdl. HA! not only have they taken well over the principle amount, but they have the audacity to raise my amount. Now if im not mistaken, as part of what a collection agency can and cant do, arent they only permitted to collect the principle amount? technically this company has no right to charge me fees for a balance that wasnt even taken from them to begin with. So after arguing with the lady i spoke with she transferred me to her "supervisor" who gave me an even HIGHER settlement amount.. trying to play it off as him doing me a favor. I told him i disagree with owing all this and told him to send me a detailed proof in writing which is my right by law. He says "Um, yah, well, i have to tell you i can do that but it'll take 30 days to be mailed out and the fees between now and then are going to go up." Basically threatening me. So i told him to send it, and ill take it to court. Two days later HIS "supervisor" leaves me a message saying i have to get online and fill out a release form to get that info in writing. So ive closed my account and opened a new one. Theyre not getting a dime, and i HOPE they ding my credit for it.. cuz im just dying to unleash the hell that is my rage at whats happened over the last months with them. So ill let you know what happens from here, and hopefully that'll give you all a clue into what you can get away with and whether or not theyre legal. My guess? not a chance.

nk9, did you receive anything in the mail from Churchill? A "statement" saying you owe suchandsuch amount for suchandsuch loan? Anything? Because I've received a letter from a collection agency (illegal company) that demands $200 over the principle amount of the loan that I overpaid anyway. However, it states on there that you have 30 days to request a debt validation in writing to them. Did they send you anything? If not, you could always go ahead (since you have their address), send a debt validation letter to them. Let them validate that debt. That would be very interesting to see. This way, since it was just a phone call (no documentation) and he is going to take 30 days to get you some information (what???), you can take the first step. In your letter, refer to the phone call (documentation) and then ask them for debt validation. Keep a copy of that letter. Send them the letter certified mail. You will be one step ahead of them.
Crown Lending.
I had taken out a payday loan and notice a crown lending debt on my account. I have never took anything out from crown lending and not sure why this is comming out. I am not sure how to reach them either. I did payoff the loan but this has not stopped from my checking. Please advise. Thank You Jean
Ashland Funding
I was so happy :D to see that I am NOT the only person having problems getting hold of these people. Unfortunately, I've been dealing with this much longer. I've thought about putting a stop payment on them, which now I've decided to. I am so glad that when I punched in "Ashland Funding" on google, I've got your posting. I have never gotten any paperwork from them electronically nor via the fax.
I hope a lot of other people read this and see that this is a problem and others need to be aware.
Thanks, again!

Ashland Funding
I received a letter from a company called First Credit Services Inc. stating that they r a collection agency and that I owe Ashland Funding $490. The PDL was for 200 and 60 was paid on it. I have tried to contact Ashland Funding using the number they gave me when I took the loan and can not get ahold of anyone and I even left messages asking them to return the call which they have not. They haven't tried to contact me via phone or mail. It hasn't even been a month since I paid the $60 and already they have turned it over to someone else. I not sure exactly how legal this is, but I did do some research on FSC and I don't think they are legit. If anyone can help let me know :)

I too have an account with Ashland Funding and only information I can find is on this forum asking for assistance.
I borrowed 325.00 on 05/28/10 and take 75.00 every two weeks. So far I have paid $525.00 and want out. Are they legit in the state of Florida?
All I have for them is
Phone (866)430-5430
Fax (888)229-2550
Should I close this account due to the fact that I have paid far more than the prinicipal? How do i find more information about this company and if it's legal in the state of Florida.
Ashland funding are a bunch of terrorist
Unfortunatley, we took out a loan with Ashland funding (EZ Payday) and we had identity theft occur on our checking account and we had to close our account. We also noticed that they were taking our $60.00 every two weeks to pay for the pay-day loan. However, the principle balance never went down. Tonight, I get a call from one of their terrorist threatening my husband with going to jail for a bad check. Be careful. If they try to threaten you, call your local police. His name is Mr. Musgrove. He really is a piece of work and he's mean.
