Has anyone had any luck with MTE?

I have two loans with Oneclickcash and ameriloan. I hear that they are very difficult to work with. I have sent lettter/complaints to the AG and the BBB. What should I expect from them? Oh, I have another one with Ambassador/Nationwidecash..HELP...Please tell me it's going to get better...

pump, I would love to tell you that dealing with MTE d/b/a's is a piece of cake. I'm not going to do that. However, others on the forum have gotten 1/2 way decent responses from them. I am not one of them. Some they will mark PIF, some they will "settle", others they make life a living hell. I guess it depends on their mood that day. I'm having one hell of a time with them myself. But, like I said, some have had fairly good luck. I hope you're one of the ones that they work with! :D

Hi pumpkin...I am also dealing w/ MTE and their many dba's. Before I learned the laws in my state (I'm in NC) and realized that I'd already overpaid these loans, I received a settlement offer on one of them since the debit was no longer able to clear my bank account due to its overdrawn status. I paid the settlement amount and the matter was settled. However, with the other 2 (One Click Cash and ameriloan), I have decided NOT to settle by sending them more money. I've already overpaid these loans by $122 and $99 respectively, and they're NOT getting another cent. They responded to my claim w/ the BBB that they would be willing to settle if I will simply send in another payment in the amount of $150 for each loan. I declined the settlement and refuse to send any more money.

They've started calling my job recently saying that they're from some collection agency re: a payday loan that I have not paid on. I simply let them know that I'm NOT paying anything else, I've filed official complaints with the AG's office and BBB, that payday loans are prohibited in NC and therefore I am not obligated to give them more than the principle loan amount which I've already done. Furthermore, I tell them that if they wish to discuss the account with me that I'm only willing to do it in writing so that I can have appropriate copies to supplement my complaints. After that, I hang up.

It's annoying as hell that they keep calling and a little embarrasing that they're calling at work (thank God they're calling my direct line), but I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they can do NOTHING to me. The AG's office has copies of all my bank statements spanning the last year and is completely aware of how much I've been debited by these creeps.

Finding this site and empowering myself with information has certainly made this easier. After all, who likes being harrassed by creditors...they make you feel horrible. Knowing they can't touch me while also expecting threats and bad crap to happen is the only thing that has kept me sane in the process of getting out of this mess. Arm yourself with as much info as possible pumpkin.

Well, the good news is that you've filed official complaints with your AG and the BBB. A couple of things...have you closed your bank account already? Have you paid back at least the principal amount borrowed? Please make a list of each PDL company including the original loan amount and the amount debited to date. Even though these companies are illegal, having paid back at least the principal makes things a little less stressful to deal with.

Have you sent a letter to each of your internet PDL's revoking any wage assignments and automatic debits? Please let me know if you need a copy of a sample letter and I'll PM one to you. With each letter, you should include copies of your official complaints with the AG and BBB. Typically, the AG and BBB step in to mediate on your behalf.

The important thing to remember is that these companies are operating illegally and you're not obligated to give them anything more than the principal you owe. Don't let them scare you!

It's a terribly scary feeling, I know. Its amazing that these crooks have the ability to rob our lives of joy and peace (I didn't sleep for MONTHS until I found this site and took action).

I wish I could say its all cotton candy from here, but I would be lying. You should expect that even though you've asked that they not contact you by phone, they will. You should expect to be threatened with... collections, going to jail for fraud, having to go to court, blah, blah, blah. You'll probably even receive a few "settlement" letters stating that you still owe X amount, but can settle your acount by sending $100-150 via Money Gram right away. Hell, I even know of people who've received phone calls from supposed "FBI agents" who are calling in regard to their "payday loan fraud"...I don't know who falls for this one, like the FBI doesn't have enough going on with the aliens out in Roswell (furthermore, the PDLs are illegal so why would the FBI be defending them). Don't fall for any of this crap...stand your ground. [By the way, if you get one of the "FBI" calls, ask immediately for a badge#...tell them you need to call your local police dept to determine if the badge# is legit. They'll always refuse to give you a number and usually hang up at this point.]

You have to realize that these are just scare tactics. They don't call them scare tactics for nothing...they're freakin scary. But you should also realize that these illegal companies can do absolutely NOTHING to you (except harrass you to a certain degree). Once you're able to take comfort in that knowledge, you'll start to sleep again.

pump, MTE can be ruthless; however, they're not too God awful when it comes to telephone calls. I informed them to only contact me via email or USPS. I will not communicate with them via telephone. They have not called my work, they have not called my references (none of my pdl's ever called my references). They were calling my cell phone a million times, but gave up since I wouldn't accept their calls. I deal strictly with them via email. I do have email addresses if you need them. You can send them each an email instructing them not to contact you via telephone at all, only via email or USPS so that you may have documentation of all communication. If you need any email addresses, let me know. Do not lose sleep over this. Please. MTE drove me INSANE for awhile. Totally insane. I thought I was losing it. But....now I'm still sane and still here! LOL! I'd be glad to give you any information that might help. But, please, do not lose sleep over them. They can't get your money any more. Email them and tell them not to contact you via telephone. It'll be okay. Take it from me. I've been dealing with these idiots for some time now.

Oh, hell, no! :D You want to go right to the source. Try:

compliancedepartment(at)ameriloan.com

Can't guarantee that one - I haven't dealt with them.

compliancedepartment(at)oneclickcash.com
They WILL get it.

If you're feeling really frisky one day, contact MTE (Satan himself)directly at:

compliancedepartment(at)mtefs.com

Email the hell out of them!

Let me know if the ameriloan one goes through. Not sure about that one. I am absolutely postive about the other two though. And, please, hound them to total death for me!

rain, I'm so glad they both went through! MTE d/b/a's have "compliancedepartment" emails. That's what usually gets through to them. The "customerservice" emails are just a friggin joke. Give them time. More than likely they'll respond (and not nice). Please keep me informed of if they do respond to you. And, if you do decide to contact MTE directly, please expect them to claim they are not these pdl's. A very known tactic used by MTE Financial. Been there. Done that. It's kind of funny. But, please let me know your status. I'll be waiting! Good luck to you. I hope you are one of the lucky ones they give a little "something" to. Some are not so lucky.
