Interest withdrawn from my bank

I received a payday loan and had payments for the interest withdrawn from my bank, unfortunately 1 week i did not have the money to cover the $30. being withdrawn, so the loan was not paid, I received a letter in the mail dated 08/01, that since I defaulted on my loan I must call and make payment arrangements or send them a money order in the amount owed. On 08/03 when I actually recieved the letter, they withdrew 160.00 dollars from my account, mind you it wasnt even pay week (I get paid bi-weekly) now my question is, can they do this, because I believed it was against the law to remove money from a bank account, unless it was approved, please let me know any info anyone might have, thanks.

The loan was for $100.00 and so far i have paid in interest $120.00, and know they withdrew 160.00 out of my account so this a total of $280. for a 100.loan, I live in New Jersey the name of the company is Westbury Ventures, i Put a dispute at my bank and I complained to the Attorney generals office the federal trade commision and the better buisness bereu, these people are a bunch of crooks and they should be put out of buisness, not to mention how rude they were when I called.

ana, honey, pdl's are prohibited in your state! I'm posting your state law for you to see it for yourself. You need to get that money situation straighted out at the bank. And,honestly, I would do something regarding my bank account, as they now have your information are are feeling free to use it any way they like. They will continue to debit you. Please read the link regarding closing your bank account and post any questions. They are prohibited in your state. Here is your state pdl law -(just select your state)

Morningstar stated "Call your bank and tell them it was an approved debit...they may be able to reverse it. Can you tell us who the pdl is, internet based?? " What she meant to say was tell them that it was a unauthorized debit so that they will investigate it and refund your money.
