Sickening and Amazing at the Same Time

I saved all of my incoming e-mail messages since August 1st. I counted them up just now and I have 1277 messages for Payday Loans.

Wow.

If talking about "advertisements" I would hate to count how many I have gotten in a month's time. I know almost every night when I come home to check my email accounts, the one I use for PDL's, the junk/bulk file always has anywhere between 50 to 100 emails in there. 90% of them are from pdl companies

Now I have, I would say in the past 2 to 3 weeks been bombarded with emails about being selected to receive part of someone's estate and stuff like that. I tell you, the spam is getting bad!!!

I've been bombarded about estate stuff too. Also my email has been full of foriegn countries offering me jobs or wanting me to be their contact person (of course and use my bank account to filter their money through. No matter how many times I send them to spam, more keep popping up. Where are they getting our emails from? It's ridiculous!

Okay, I delete all the advertisements for pay day loans (gee, they love us all). But I keep all the email correspondence from the pdl's that I'm dealing with/dealt with. I have over 300 emails. Yes, they are all saved AND they are all printed out. I trust nothing! But can you believe it? Okay, so I had 12 pdl's. But over 300 correspondence emails bickering back and forth? Good Lord! And you think I'm kidding when I say I have STACKS of this crap sitting here!

I also keep alll my PDL e mails for proof etc.
But yesterday I won the Spanish lottery for 6.5 million. Its sad , but some people do fall for these scams. I also get lots from the Nigerian government asking for My account so they can deposit millions into it for which I would get a 10% commission. Again, people actually believe this stuff.
I suppose if you are desperate, you will believe anything

ks, OMG! I swear, I haven't gotten any advertisements for pdl's in months, and suddenly I'm getting them again! What the? I was beginning to wonder..... I'm glad I'm not the only one. It was great for awhile not seeing those stupid things. And now they're back!

I stopped getting them for a while also. Funny thing(or is it?)
They just started coming agian. I wonder if the ones we are getting now are involved with the ones that we defaulted on. Maybe they are trying thru some other underhanded way to gain access to our info. No One I hope would give their info to another pay day co, but the payday companies hope they will

kash, I swear, we're two of a kind. We're both paranoid! Because my thought is exactly the same as yours. I'm looking at these coming to my email and thinking "Now why in the world am I starting to get these things again?" First of all, I made sure I did the whole "unsubcribe" thing every time I got one of those pdl emails. So I wasn't getting them anymore. And about a month went by with none at all. I sure didn't miss them. Now suddenly they're back! So, I'm doing the whole "unsubscribe" thing again to get off these mailing lists. But I certainly haven't been to any pdl sites (God no!) so that they could "trace" me and send me emails and stuff. So I don't have a clue what's going on all of a sudden. But I'm thinking like you. I'm wondering if it's pdl's we have/had and are using this tactic to suck us back in and get new info. It really makes you wonder.

Cannr
GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE !!!!!
I also unsubscribe every time I get this garbage. They keep coming back, and I really do wonder where they are getting my e mail address from. I just steer clear, and i dont even open them. I just go to the bottom anfd try to get off the mailing list, but they just keep coming. I am at a point where I just dont put anything past these people, and I dont think we should ever let our guard down.

Well, kash, AMEN to that! I just hope others reading this thread will know NOT to fall for these advertisements rolling in again. God forbid someone, in a moment of weakness, goes in and takes advantage of the advertisement. I can see it now - it's a pdl associated with a pdl they have/had and now they get the new bank info and BAM! They take out the "old" pdl debits and the "new" pdl debits. Makes me shudder just thinking about it.

I haven't given my new bank account number to ANYONE. I've even started just buying money orders for bills unless its my rent or my car payment because that goes to family. I don't want anybody getting their hands on my information. I've started carrying more cash too and not leaving it all in my bank account so if by chance the scum does get through, I'll still have enough money to get by until it gets settled. I love my bank because the people are so nice and understanding and helpful, but I've started losing faith in the whole banking industry. Sheesh.

I took goudah's advice and have more than one bank account now. If someone gets one, at least I have another. I put some money in one, and some money in the other. I don't trust anyone anymore!

Thank you, 2nd band! I was beginning to wonder myself if I was a man or a woman by all these "new" emails I've been receiving!

I don't know if that's true or not. Because the first time I went through and unsubscribed (a million times) and they stopped. Now all of a sudden I'm getting the crap again! Anyone else getting these ones that say "a freind/neighbor has sent you a greeting". Like I'm going to go and open that one up. Hello!
