Valid mailing address for gfsIL
I'm a new poster on the forum but have been lurking around for a couple of weeks now. I have a question that I'm hoping someone can answer.
I have a loan with gfsIL and have been trying to contact them via us mail. I got an address off this forum and sent a registered letter only to have it returned to me as "Attempted Not Known". Can someone tell me if this is a valid address?

I have been getting harassing phone calls from this company, I asked the last guy that called me for the mailing address. He kept refusing to give it to me telling me that I did not need to mail them anything, I could just contact them via phone. I just kept repeating over and over again, give me a mailing address please. He finally gave me the one listed above. Is this valid?
Thanks

We were just posting regarding them yesterday. Here is the information we have:
Global Financial Service

1-877-280-2337 fax
Personally, I only deal with pdl's via email. I don't like the telephone calls. They can get nasty and you don't have documentation.

Thanks for your post. I too don't like dealing with them over the phone. I told the guy I would not talk to him over the phone and that I needed an address. I sent a letter to the address you list but it was returned to me.
Has anyone had success sending letters to this company at this address?
jess
jess, this is the address I filed my complaints with and also many others on the forum. I have sent numerous letters to this address and none had been returned to me. I actually even started getting emails since I wouldn't take their calls. Your best bet is to NOT take any more calls from them (totally illegal company) and just file all the complaints you possibly can. You need to file with the BBB, just use the address you have (I swear, my mail didn't get returned!), file with your state AG, and PLEASE file with the FTC regarding them. They are actually an illegal overseas company. The FTC needs complaints filed against them. Do not take their calls. Eventually they will stop calling you. You just have to put up with them calling until they tire of you.

Thanks. I fired off another fax today, I faxed them last month when I sent the letter via mail. I just faxed another copy of the letter but added that this was my second notice to them to cease and decist phone calls to me.
I will send another letter via postal mail tomorrow. Now that I look at the envelope that was returned to me I notice that I addressed it to GFSIL, not Global Financial Service. Guess they thought they could ignore the letter if not addressed to Global Financial.
Are there links to filing complaints about this company? I'm not really sure where to go to file complaints, and believe me I want to file them.
Thanks

jess, you need to keep on bombarding them with emails/faxes/letters. I swear to you, I sent mine like 10 times to every pdl. If they ignored me, I sent it again. If they responded in a "stupid" way (like saying they were legal when they were not) I re-sent everything again. It got old, but I kept on doing it. Actually, one of them told me to stop emailing them and then started rejecting my email! That was kind of funny! But here's who you totally need to file complaints with. The BBB (Better Business Bureau) www.bbb.org. The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) www.ftc.gov, your state AG (Attorney General). Just google your state attorney general and the site should pop up and they have a "consumer protection" link and you can file a complaint. And also, I do this just because I like to file complaints, you can go to www.ic3.gov. It's an internet crime complaint site. File with every single one of these agencies.

Thanks for the info, I'm gonna file the complaints now.
In my letter today I put a statement in there that said something to the effect of "If you do not respond to me via email or postal mail within 24 hours of this letter you are admitting this debt is not valid and are releasing me from any financial responsibility to your company"
Thought I would throw that in and see if I actually get a written response this time instead of another phone call. I also put in big bold letters across the top "THIS IS YOUR SECOND NOTICE! DO NOT IGNORE! CEASE AND DESIST ALL PHONE CALLS IMMEDIATELY!"
They seem so fond of telling us that we have to respond right away that I thought I would throw it back at them.
Thanks again,
J

jess, you did good! I sent mine over and over. And each one I would put (in bold letter like you!) SECOND ATTEMPT, THIRD ATTEMPT, FOURTH ATTEMPT, FINAL ATTEMPT. Hey, they can't say we didn't try to get a response from them! LOL! I like your attitude. Kind of like mine. Bug the hell out of them! And, file those complaints. The BBB works pretty fast, but sometimes they can't do a whole lot. The FTC may/may not respond; however, take my word for it, they are paying attention. Your state AG takes time. Be patient with them. It took them about a month and I didn't hear a word. Then all of a sudden I got a response on every single complaint I filed. In my state, the AG gives the company 30 days to respond. So I figure they're all in their hands now. So I'm just waiting to hear from them. Be patient. They will review every complaint and then decide if it "merits" a complaint from them to the company. That's why it takes them longer. But, have faith. They have really been coming through for a lot of members. And keep us posted on how things are going! :D

I love this site! New ideas everyday! I just filed my complaint with the FTC with regards to GFS/GFSIL. I faxed letters to these people, and have emailed them 3 times demanding they stop debits to my account. They keep threatening to contact my employer, which I don't want! How embarrassing. I will continue to fax/mail/and email these people till they get sick of me...this could be interesting...thanks again everyone!!

grd, if you're not getting responses - or they're responding via telephone when you've asked them not to - continue to send 1st notice, 2nd notice, 3rd notice, etc. letter to them all. Fax them, email them, mail them. Lord knows I did it a million times! Keep hanging tough. Yes, they will probably call your work. Try not to take the calls if at all possible. You want all your correspondence in writing. Email or USPS only. You want proof of everything.
