pdl laws of New York

Hi Guys
i am a bit (a lot) confused regarding the laws here,
Can someone clarifty if the following are legal to lend in New york. I thought they were not, but now I dont know
Fast bucks now
one step cash
its my pay day
I believe that Star Advance is not legal anywhere as they are not even in thias country

Payday loans are illegal in New York. Pay them back the principal only and move on. You must freeze or close your checking account first. They do not care what your state laws say. They will just keep taking money.

You will find the Payday loan laws for New York here (just select your state),

All of us have gotten mixed signals and I know at least one of the experts on this site is looking in to this issue deeper. I have been told my numerous agencies (NY AG, NY BANKING and NY Bar Assoc.)
that payday loans are illegal in NY. This means that no lender can set up shop physically in NY and lend to consumers in NY. If you have an Internet loan and the lender is licensed in a state that supports payday loans then you have a legal binding contract. The key is that they have to be licensed. Out of the 15 loans I have I believe only 2 ended up being licensed and I was still able to get a PIF from one of them. The second one 1800899CASH is claiming to be licensed under the company called Franscella but I'm tring to find evidence that the two are related. Either way I spoke to them last night and told them I was waiting for the NY AG (Internet Division) to mediate for me. I'm not familiar with any of your lenders but you need to find the state they are claiming to be lending from and then attempt to find out if they are licensed there to start. Even if they have a license you can still fight them but it just means you can't claim the loan illegal in NY. (or so I've been told)
