Anyone with information on AS and Associates?

I saw someone respond to another message saying that they had dealt w/this company. I just got a call from this guy today. I don't believe what he is saying but I don't know how to deal w/him. He is dealing with 500 fastcash and says they want to bring charges against me for bad checks. I stopped all ACHs but never gave this internet company a paper check. Then he said they had two cases against me but both times he only mentioned the June ACH I stopped. Then he said the matter would be released tomorrow at 4, then he said that the matter would be released Friday at noon. In the first call his assistant said the matter would be released last Friday at 1pm. I don't know how to handle this situation. I have more than overpaid this company. I took a loan in Nov. for $300. Although I live in DE and there is no limit to interest fees, there is a limit to number of rollovers. They rolledover the loan every two weeks w/a 90 fee until I stopped all ACHs in June. Then I sent them a letter saying that I felt that I had overpaid and I wanted a paid in full marked on my account. I never heard another word from them until this guy giving me a heads up that they are going to try to prosecute me on bad check fees. He went on to quote an 82% success rate w/prosecution and would be glad to take payments for the account w/o any additional fees. He tried to sound so nice and sincere saying he knew nothing about the original loan and knew nothing about this company, he just didn't want me to get into trouble. Should I just pay him? What should I do. How can an unpaid ACH be the same as an unpaid check? He also stated that the check was stamped NSF but I actually closed the bank account.

Please give me some advice I can use. My attorney general does not deal with interenet lenders in the state, the banking board does and they are really slow to respond to any help.

Thanks

They are liars! Seriously, almost everyone here has been "threatened" with this. And we are all still here. Don't believe his lies. Next time he calls, ask him to hold for a sec, then come back and say you have your local police dept on the line and they are laughing because you can't be arrested to defualting on a payday loan, and you never even wrote them a check. Returned ACH's are totally different. Please, dont' lose any sleep over this. They are totally lying!!!
