What are they smoking over at the NY AG office???
After submitting both my complaints to the NY AG regarding Oneclickcash and United Cash Loans, and receiving a response that they would mediate on my behalf, I decided to file a complaint regarding ameriloan (also an MTE company) to try to get a refund for the ridiculous amount I overpaid them on a previous loan (over $400 overpaid on a $300 loan).
I filed the complaint via fax on Thursday of last week.
I received this response yesterday from Philip Gamma (the same idiot who responded to Mperez):
“We have received your letter and appreciate your alerting us to this matter.
We have added the information to our files. It is through complaints such as yours that we learn of patterns of fraud and illegality. The information may also help us in assisting other consumers.
On behalf of Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo, thank you for your concern.â€Â
WTF???? This doesn’t address my complaint at ALL!
What would you guys recommend I do? Should I forward the complaint to the same guy who is handling my other ones to see if I could get any answers that way?
I just don’t understand how the SAME department in this office can give such different answers.
Mperez, if you’re out there, something needs to be done about this guy, he is a real wacko who obviously doesn’t know what he is talking about.
ag office
mperez i got the same generated letter from ag office they did not address my concerns at all. i guess we have to fight the battle among ourselves. i am not giving up. we new yorkers have to band together and see if we can get legit response from the ag. i thought they were there to help us. goudah that was very nice of u to post the info about ucl in maine, i guess pretty soon they all will be outlawed. i am so over them that i spam anything that comes up as paydayloans on my email. in consolidation and OH it feels so GooD. i am now able to take care of all my bills that was neglected because of these vultures.
JEN5276 hang in there, WE SHALL OVERCOME!!!!!

finechile, you are right. However, I did receive a response to my other two complaints, stating that they would mediate on my behalf. But the response came from a different "representative" at the NY AG office.

Hey all - at least I know it just wasn't me! I have the name of the head of the Consumer Fraud Department and it was suggested by my regional AG rep to write a letter to PG's big boss and mail it using the NYC address that was on the letter from PG. I do plan on following up with that but I'm still just trying to resolve my PDL situation first.
That being said you need to REFILE your NY AG complaints to the Interent division of the AG office. If you go online they have a separate complaint form that has to be downloaded (PDF). They don't take online submissions. I'm still working on my package. I'm pulling letters, details from websites, loan agreements etc. to send certified. The person I spoke to from this division said they are where we want to go.
I hear you Mperez, I'm more concerned right now with clearning u
I hear you Mperez, I'm more concerned right now with clearning up everything with the PDLs too.
I am going to send my complaint directly to Justin LaMonica (who is handling my other 2) and see where that gets me. If that doesn't work, I will refile with the division you suggested.
BTW-do you have a fax machine? It's much easier (and cheaper) to send some of this stuff that way, at least in my experience.
I do have access to a fax but I think I can fit all of this into
I do have access to a fax but I think I can fit all of this into a flat rate envelope or box. I rather send it that way so I feel confident everything went. Keep me posted on how you make out and I will do the same.
