JFYC

On 6/26/07 $84 was taken out of our checking account, I went to the bank and they printed off a copy of a check that was computerized and made out to JFYC, Just For You Communications. I called them to find out who they are, they are collecting for AOL, so I called AOL and they said neither of us has ever had an account with them. JFCY was supposed to refund my money by 8/3/07, never seen it yet. I filed complaint with the AG's office. I wish I would have filed the dispute at the bank but thought these guys were sounding reasonable. If this happens to you, file the dispute on your side of the payment, your bank. I am still trying to clear this up.

The same thing happened to me they are a fradulent company. Dispute it with your bank and you will get a refund. They act as though they have an account with Bank of America, but they have no knowledge of them, dispute it.

oooohhhhh........90 days? That's awesome! I'm glad to hear that! I thought it was a much shorter time period. But, then again, if I see something, I'm at the bank (like an annoying little fly) when they open the door at 9:00am!

This dispute was handled a little differently than the other dispute I had to file a while ago, this one had to be notarized. I explained to them that I have tried to get these fools to refund my money with no luck on my own. They said they will handle it, the lady did not know how long it would take to get the money back in my account though.

This company is originally a marketing company...they are Just For You Communications 115 Atrium Way Suite 220 Columbia, SC 29223. They are still in business there BBB has them listed on their website. I had them try to withdraw $110.00 from my account on July 24, 2007. I put a stop payment immediately (which cost me $20)but they did not get my money. However I called them and they were to send me paperwork authorized by AT&T. I have no accounts with AT&T. The strange thing is no one has stopped them and they are still in business..I just wanted to know how they got my banking info and who else they gave it too.

These people took 110.00 from my account on Friday. I have no idea who they are.

I'm amazed that some people are having problems with their banks. I bank with Wachovia and as soon as I saw the draft, I called up Wachovia's customer service and they referred me to their Loss Prevention dept. I explained everything to the rep and she refunded the 110.00 to my account while I was on the the phone. The money was back in my account the very next morning. Wachovia also closed my account and gave me a new one all over the phone.

I have no clue how these people got my checking account number, but after reading these posts and posts in other forums, they must somehow buy Pay Day loans or other types of accounts that require a checking account number.

I will never use my checking account number online for anything again. To pay my credit cards, I'll just write a check or use Wachovia or a company like PayTrust bill pay system.....

You are right...I have learned a hard lesson on that issue also. I am sure this JFYC got my personal info from a payday loan also..however the thing I don't understand is how they can keep on hitting people's accounts and get away with it. I filed with the FTC and that was back in July I have heard nothing since!

I'm getting frightened now! At least tm got his bank to take care of it and close that account. As soon as anyone notices an unauthorized debit (check your account every day), contact the bank immediately. The sooner you catch it, the easier it is for them to reverse off. I can not believe these people. It's scary how easily some people can get your account information. Of course, applying for pdl's is how they get it. But sometimes people haven't applied for pdl's and companies still get their bank account information. I am now a fanatic. I check my account every morning when I wake up. Sad. But I feel as though I have to do this.

I agree. I check my account every morning. I also check my two closed accounts, even though my banks do not force open closed accounts. My account now is at a completely different bank , but I am not comfortable until I see for myself/ I am so paranoid that I will probably check it until the day I die

I have searched the FTC website for any sign of my complaint. I did not see one thing on this group.
They have a website "www.justforyoucommunications.com"
and it states JFYC is their sister company. They are also known as Triton Solutions...they also list many well-known corporations such as AT&T as their clients.
I have written to the FTC and awaiting a reply..which may be months. I don't know why they keep getting away with doing this...do they not have a regular business or is this it trying to steal from people???

Do any of you more affluent people (with laws) know why this company (JYFC) can not be stopped? I am sure the FTC is looking into it I received a e-mail from them after I filed a complaint. Of course that was back in July...they still have a website but do not answer phone calls...and if you do get an answer it is all lies. Who else can I complain too????

I contacted the Indiana Attorney General's office. I was told being this is not a business in our state that they can not help me. They suggested I contact South Carolina's Attorney General's office..which I did and have received no response. They also suggested I file a report with the FTC..which I did...I guess it just very slow.

laura, unfortunately, you are right. It is a slow process. But just when you start getting discouraged, you will hear something. These government agencies review every single complaint. So it takes time. Give it some time and see if you get a response. It took quite a while for me to get anything from my state AG. Then they all came at once!

In case anyone is interested...JFYC is known as Just For You, Inc. at the BBB in the Central SC and Charleston area. They have 3 employees..and somehow get alot of information on personal accounts. The BBB states they are not a member and have had 33 complaints in the last 6 months...28 have been closed...but there is no acknowledgement of illegal activities...which somehow suprises me! Obviously most people are just happy to get their money back and are not as interested as I am as to how they got my personal information????

SOOO happy to find this website!!! I too just went to the bank on Fri. to find $84 had been withdrawn by this JFYC company. when i called their phone number my bank gave as the contact #,..All i got was a general voicemail after the 1st ring..no business name etc.
My bank was really helpful. They had me sign a fraud form on the spot to begin process of getting $$ back into account by Tues. Immediately went home to google the company & found couple articles about them ripping others off. My bank told me to FWD the websites to them too. AND YES!!!! i WILL be calling down to South Carolina too!

I am in south Georgia, and just found a ACH drawn on my account from this same company. Monday, I called my bank, Tuesday morning my money was back in my accout (from the bank)I don't know what wil happen with the bank. It's scary that they are still in business. The memo on the check said that I was buying a condo in South Carolina with the 89.95. I now have a copy of the fraudulant check and my bank says that they will block any future checks with the JFYC name.

What a down payment for a condo 89.95!!! I am truly amazed that this company is still doing this...how much money have they fraudulently collected from other people who do not know what to do? I have heard nothing from the FTC but one response since I filed last year. I know building a case against these people is slow but really they should be able to at least stop them from debiting people's accounts. Guest I am glad you got your money back.

Cannr, I know what you mean; I check my bank account every day, as well. It just takes a few moments and keeps me on top of what's going on with my account. On these unauthorized debits, has anyone ever noticed if it's the same banks that the PDL's keep hitting? Might be worth investigating; if everyone who's had problems with unauthorized debits (esp. if they've never applied for a PDL) seems to have accounts at the same couple of banks, well, it's not out of the question that someone at the bank is in cahoots with the PDL's. A bit scary, but as I said, it might be worth taking a survey to see if there's anything in common w/ people who've been hit.

wheadle...I have been hit with unauthorized debits in the past from the pdls. However my bank is owned locally and I have been with them for over 20 years. I never had any problem with unauthorized transactions until I got payday loans. It is best to never get a loan from a payday lender you can not trust them with your information. I was told my one pdl service rep that they shared their website with a credit card company. That company was Everprivate card and they immediately debited my account the next day. So I do not do applications on-line for anything anymore.

I HAVE ALSO BEEN A VICTIM OF THIS FRAUD. THEY HAVE WITHDRAWN FROM MY ACCOUNT 89.95 . THE MEMO ON THE CHECK ALSO STATES THAT I HAVE PURCHASED A CONDO FOR VACATIONS. I HAVE ALSO FILED A FRAUD REPORT AT THE BANK. JUST WAITING TO SEE WHAT ACTIONS THEY WILL TAKE.
