what should I do now with GFSIL?
I sent GFSIL a revocation of wage assignment and asked for a debt validation letter and revoked them to take any ach withdrawals from any account I have. This is the response I received from them:

Thank you for your e-mail. Having reviewed your file, We have listened to the recording of the entire call of May 4, 2007 during which you accepted the loan. At no point did you mention any concerns - in fact you made verbal agreements to all the separate terms and conditions as they were read to you. The agreed terms and conditions were very clear in relation to fee amounts, due dates and the options you would have on those due dates. You also accepted, during the call, that the loan would be covered 'solely by the Laws of the United Kingdom'. If at any time you were unhappy with, or disagreed with, the terms of the loan, you had the option to cancel the application, yet you did not do so. If you felt that this loan may possibly breach your local laws, you could have cancelled the application. You chose not to do so and completed the application and accepted the loan. We absolutely refute the claims in your emails concerning the lack of validity of this loan. We have administered the loan account you have with us in accordance with the terms and conditions to which you agreed and would ask that you contact us on 1-877-280-2337 so that we may resolve this matter in an amicable manner. I am sorry to tell you that Oklahoma Law is very plain on this. Please note the wording "wherever located: It states: You are governed by Oklahoma Law: The provisions of this act shall apply to transactions if the lender, wherever located, enters into the transaction with the debtor by mail, brochure, telephone, print, radio, television, Internet, or any other means.? Okla. Stat. Tit. 59 Sec. 3103.C. I also request you send me a written validation of my debt, and provide me a physical address to send the payment to. |

Taking more money than what the laws allow is illegal on their part. All of you who have overpaid are due a refund. Every state limits what a company can charge in interest and how many times a person can 'roll over' a loan. Some states don't allow any roll overs. Check with your Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission. Some states make loans illegal, and if your state does not allow loans in your state, you are entitled to get back everything except the exact amount you originally borrowed.

I'm in NC and I know they are completely illegal here, but my AG's office said that I should basically just cut off all contact and just accept that I'm out of whatever I've overpaid. Luckily, GFSIL is the only one I overpaid on. Plus, I wouldn't even know how to go about getting a refund from them. They haven't called me at work in almost 3 weeks, which is weird, because I used to hear from them every other day.

WOW! There really are others who have dealt with GFSIL!! I'm NOT alone! So, here's my situation...I'm in California by the way.
Took out a $200 loan.
I've paid them $685.
I asked for a debt validation letter, and account statement. They mentioned nothing of the letter, and said to check my personal bank statements with regards to payments. WHAT?!?!
At this point, as long as I can get them to STOP taking money from me, I'd be happy.
Suggestions??
THANKS!!

grd, have you put a hard debit block on your bank account or closed it? That's the only way these guys will not get their money any longer. As long as they have access to your bank account, they will debit you until you're dead in the ground. You need to do something about your bank account. You've overpaid them, they are illegal. You are probably never going to see a refund from this illegal company, but you need to prevent them from getting any more of your money. Believe me, they've broken the law this long, they're not going to start abiding by it now. No matter what you've sent them (just keep it for your own documentation) they're going to continue to debit your account. Get that account taken care of ASAP so they can't debit any longer and file all complaints.

Thanks for all the info cannr! So here's where I'm at with all my loans...
WorldWideCash
$200 loan
Paid $801 total in "fees."
AIP
$200 loan
Paid $1157 total in "fees."
GFSIL/GFS
$200 loan
Paid $685 total in "fees."
I say fees, because none of this money has been applied towards the principal. From what I understand under California law, they aren't allowed to charge "refinance/rollover" fees, so, I consider all my loans paid in full. What do you think??
Also, I have begun writing letters and mailing them out certified to all three, faxed the same letters to each, and filed complaints regarding the three with the bbb, and ftc.
Only AIP has responded with a message saying that I agreed to pay these fees, until I notified them of a principal payment. UUURRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!
Not giving up by far!!
grd
Holy crap! You've paid waaaaaay too much! OMG! Okay, sorry. You already know that. Yes, rollovers/extensions are prohibited. All the money they have debited should go to the principle. You've overpaid every one of your pdl's. And, by the way, they are illegal pdl's. I'm posting your state law just so you can print it out and include it with your letters for the idiots to see. However, as far as AIP is concerned, let me tell you, they refunded me EVERY PENNY I paid over my principle amount of $200. I got a refund of around $200 from them. This was resolved through the BBB alone. Let's see if I have my information on them.....Yes, I filed my complaint with the BBB on
American International Processing LLC

Wilmington, DE 19803
phone: 800-274-4159
fax: 800-441-6383
I got a response to the BBB from Mr. Richards in customer service stating that they refunded my money.
Do not deal with them on your own. Let the BBB step in. A LOT of members have gotten PIF's and refunds from AIP. So there's good luck with that one. The other two, you'll be darn lucky to get a refund. With luck, you'll at least get a PIF, but they are hard up jerks to deal with. File with the BBB and the FTC, like you did, but also do not forget to file with your state AG. They'll contact them also. Let them get it from all directions! And, have you done anything with your bank account so they can't get any more money from you??? Here's your laws. Let me know about the bank account situtation.

Don't give up ever!!! You are on a roll...make sure you file complaints with your AG...mine is mediating on my behalf and I have 2 PIF's because if it. You have so over paid on these...I feel bad...I also am waiting to hear from GFSIL as they refused to listen to my AG...LOL. I do hope your bank situation has been taken care of?? Good work!!

"Dear George,
There is a man named David Jacobs, who keeps referring to you as a chimp. I can't believe that you are going to do nothing about this man, who resides in Jacksonville, Florida, employed by Bass and Associates, being sued by the Florida Attorney general's Office. This man is in your brother, Jeb's State. If I were you, I would come down on him with a vengence.
