OK - I thought I was losing it but I just checked my previous threads and found this:
I had marked this one PIF? in my papers now I know why. In GECC's letter today they said I had NO contact on record with them. Well, they had turned me over to PD Collections and that is who I dealt with - I think before I sign off I will fax them a new letter and counter their offer since I have proof that I was working with them from the onset.

These guys contacted me too through some weird collection company out of Illinois. Same PDL company though. I filed a complaint with the AG in NY as well as IL as the PDL company is not a licensed lender in NYS and the collection company they used is not licensed to collect. File a BBB complaint too. I got a response from mine in less than 2 weeks. They stated they were considering the account null and void and no further collection activities would occur.

mperez, did I give you the contact information with GECC that got mine resolved? It was a supervisor there. They gave me the same mumbo jumbo about their laws vs our laws, blah, blah. Didn't matter to me. I got it settled. I thought I had posted the contact information. If you need it, let me know.

Cannr - I think I do have your contact info. They are willing to settle however, I don't like the fact I have to agree to withdraw any complaint against them with the AG and BBB. That tells me they know I have merit in what I'm doing. I need to sleep on it and decide what to do.

Yes, please just sleep on it. A decision may just pop into your head tomorrow. You just let me know if you need any information from me. I just want you to know they did not ask me to sign anything and they did not ask me to pull any complaints I had filed. And, to be honest, I wouldn't pull the complaints anyway. They are operating illegally. So the complaints are in! Sorry about their luck! You just keep us posted and let us know what's going on! I'll be thinking about you!
