Thanks, when I did *69 it gave me that number but when I called it, it said the number that you dialed is not in service. I don't understand, how could I get a phone call from that number?

I think it's some of these fancy, shmancy gadgets where people/businesses can scramble their numbers, etc. I get phone calls all the time and when I try to call them back, it's been disconnected, etc. I have had some come in that are 000-000-0000....YEAH, RIGHT

I received a call from this number also yesterday afternoon (352-680-9688), upon picking up there was no reply on the other end.. This was followed by another strange call this morning from 905-886-5002, a family member here picked up and the person on the other end asked for me by my first name, I wasn't home at the time but the person refused to leave a name or number and wouldn't say what the call was regarding.. I called the 905 number back within 20 minutes and all I get is 3 rings and then a series of fax/modem beeps/tones..

It's unusual for us to receive ANY phonecalls at our number, so to receive 2 consecutive strange phone calls has me a little bit miffed..

I recieved a call from this number at about 9:20 this morning. When I called it back, there was no answer. This seems to happen often, and whenever I answer there is no one there.

Ok, now here are the rest of us; as I mentioned I received a call from the rude people who do not leave a message or do not say anything at all.

from what I found 352-680-9688 is registered to an address in Ocala, FL.
it showed:
15 Emerald Crse
Ocala, Fl 34472
two phone numbers linked to same address:
352-680-9688 AND 352-680-1395
owners show as:
Luis A. Caraballo and Maria S. Caraballo
House shows built in 1969 and purchased in 2002 for 101,000 usd.
it shows they are in their mid 70's
it shows Luis MAY HAVE OR DOES WORK in the plumbing, heating, and A/C industry.

My guess is if this is correct the 352-680-9688 is a business line for collections, etc. MAY be one or both of their "side jobs".
The 352-680-1395 number may be the other phone number.
I DO NOT recommend calling these numbers. who knows why we are being treated "less than kindly" but, they must be supplementing their income some how by doing what they are doing. REMEMBER NONE OF THIS INFORMATION MAY BE CORRECT.

Now to the 905-886-5002.
shows to be or seems to be hidden under some type of "cloak". BUT, it shows as a land line based in Thornhill Ontario, Canada.

I received a call from the 352# yesterday too. Googled it and found this website. Something odd is up if we all received calls from this number yesterday.

Another low life tele-marketer, breaking the law and hiding behind an un-returnable phone number. Scum!

Someone called me from this number 352-680-9688, on Aug 1 2007. They would not identify themselves or the name of their business. Extremely shady; would recommend contacting appropriate regulators.

I let it ring, it went on for about 10 rings, strange.
Most telemarketers quit after 4 rings.
Scum none the less.

Received a call today from this number. Have received others before and there is a prerecorded intoduction about "your credit card and reducing the rate, etc." I connected to an operator who hung up once I told her that this seemed like a scam operation since I was not supposed to be called because I was on the Do Not Call List. I called the number back and it was listed as disconnected. I smell a big scam here. It has been reported to the do not call registry and I advise others to do the same.

I recieved a call from 352-580-9688 8/1/07 @1406. I disagree with previous statements that it may be a collection call. I have worked in that field and a collector would leave a message. more than likely it is some type of scam. :arrow: :shock:

just got the call at 7:25pm. Same intro that LA resident brings up. I get the operator and she's like "do you have at least 2k in credit card debt." (and I'm thinking definitely scam) I said well let me check - so which of my credit cards are you calling on behalf of them. Her response is "all of them- our company name is Account Services" I'm like oh, well give me your customer service # so I can match the credit card # she says "let me transfer you" Now a dude comes on and says what's your name and SSN. (100% scam now) But he knows that I know and I say what is the name of this company and which card are you calling about. He says it is "Account Services" again. Then I give him a spiel about privacy and needing to be confident with who I work with (I'm sure he understands right?) so "why don't you give me a phone # I can call back to - or even better a website?" His response: "click" LOL. Anyway *69 and got here. Definitely not on the up and up.

Called by this number at 8:30, 4 rings, no message left on the machine

I just got a call from 352-680-9688 it is a credit negotiating company. They asked for my Name and number. I did not give it but asked for her name and number first, and she hung up.

Definitely do not give out personal information to them. It could most definitely be someone waiting for the right person to come along an un-knowingly give them the "right" info to steal your identity ...have to be careful now a days. Ya know?

got the same call today and my son said they must have let the phone ring 15 times. As for the old people, how do you know it is them making the calls and their number simply isn't being used?
In the 80's someone gave my number and I ended up with a bill 2 pages long of long distance calls. The phone company wrote them off but thats besides the point.

I recently moved back to my old place and kept the same number and now all of a sudden I get tons of wierd numbers appearing out of state with uknown caller on the ID. only the phone number shows up. they usually hang up on me or ask me to participate in a survey. i signed up for the do not call list ages ago and have never had a problem until i recently moved back home. why is this happening? ugh.

I too have been receiving phone calls from weird numbers. It coincides with my posting of my resume on Monster.com. I used to have my cell phone listed on Monster, and the weird 352-680-9688 numbers called my cell phone. Now they're calling my home phone.

Just got a call from this # trying to sell me and extended warranty for the vehicle I drive. Supposed to call me back later today looks like I will be telling them to never call me again!

I received a call from this number today also I have gotten calls from a number in Fl before but they traced back to a Robert Mumpower this one is different, but I don't answer strange numbers, so they hung up on my machine. I googled it while they were calling. but this is all I found.

I get a call from these people every few days. Sometimes there is no CLID, but usually it is a Florida number with a roving numeric address from the same area code. Have reported to the FCC in the past and will do so again today to have it on record. I have even brought it to the attention of the Florida AG but they say it is a federal issue.

My best guess is CLID spoofing so who knows where the calls really come from.

The only thing I can think of is to invest in one of those credit cards you can buy at the local wal-mart and charge something from them to find their real identity. It might be worth the cost to have this constant barrage of calls stop.

It uses a predictive dialer. It only responds to a voice. Some credit card scam. I'm reporting it to the FCC.

I recieved a call from 352-680-9688 this afternoon. The automated recording stated that my credit card was offering 6% and that it was a limited time offer. It then prompted me to press 1 to speak with a representative or press 2 to disconnect. I was curious as to which credit card company was calling me since they always identify themselves as such...so I pressed 1. I was then connected to a man (who did not identify himself) and asked for my last name. Instead, I asked him what credit card company was calling and he hung up.

Got a call from 352-680-9688 but did not answer as I did not recognize the #. Googled and found this site. Funny though - we don't have any uncollected debts and we are on the do not call list. Wonder why they're calling here. Will answer next time and find out what their business is.

I just got a call from this phone number (352-680-9688) this afternoon. It came up on the caller ID as "Florida Call" so I did not pick it up.

This is a bit irritating that I am on several DO NOT CALL lists and still get this kind of garbage coming through.

We'll see if we get the second call later or over the weekend!

I pressed one and spoke with a sales guy. I told him to put me on their no call list and he laughed. Since the Feds took over the no-call lists from the states that passed no call laws, enforcement has been a JOKE! This business-friendly Administration isn't going to lift a finger to stop these calls, the telemarketers know it and simply ignore the law. Nothing happens to them.
Oregon, where I live, is fed up. We reinstated our no call laws, if you are on the Fed no call list, Oregon will enforce. The jerk I spoke to who laughed at me dared me to register a complaint.. DONE.

They ask me for the last four digits of my SS#..it's a recording but they wanted me to put it in by keypad. Total scam..

The phone number is registered to Luis Caraballo at 15 Emerald Course, Ocala, Florida. That address turns out to be a residence on a residential street. There are several websites like this one that ask who this is and why the call and most of the testimony about conversations claim the caller solicits to lower a creit card interest rate and asks for your credit card number. Do NOT EVER give out your information over the phone to such a caller. When the receiver begins to ask smart questions, the caller hangs up. Upon calling back the number appears to be "Not in service" however this is a simple recording they put on their answering machine at that end. My suggestion is to report the call to the Do Not Call (donotcall.gov) if you signed up, in which you will need the time and date of the call, number the caller called and the number the caller called from. Ask smart questions. Scammers hate that. And turn them in. The Police do get around to complaints.

I found a possible answer to these phone calls. My husband just showed me a site on the internet where you can call from a phone, but put in any phone number that you want and it will show that number on the Caller ID. To prove it, he put my cell phone number in the program and called our home phone. The home phone caller ID said my phone number was calling. Yet my phone was turned off and sitting in my purse!! I believe we are seeing alot of these numbers that make little sense that are being used as "fronts" for their phonecalls!

I just received a call from this number. It came up as "Council, Nadine" on my call display (new name!) It was a recording that said something like "This is your credit card company and there are problems with your account. But there's good news because you qualify for a credit card with a much lower interest rate, but this is a time limited offer! Press one to be connected with an operator before this offer expires!" Blah blah blah.

Yeah right. I hung up and reported them to the Do Not Call registry.

Just a few minutes ago - did not answer and they did not leave a messag. Wanted to see if it was important so googled it. I have seen it mentioned here and at 800notes.com as a scam number. Cool (but scary) for the person who did all the research. Betcha it is a false return number.

This is in reply to guest sept 25 7:55am. 680-9688 is an old number of an elderly couple in ocala. When you called the cell given by the "mom" (Wed 26)you left a message "gonna nail your a--". Wrong home number & wrong cell. The post on aug 7, 9:49 am by reptile_mom seems correct. Someone is using their old phone number for some kind of scam. You freaked out this elderly couple, but you also made us aware of this. I tried calling the number on his caller id around 6:45pm today to talk to you about this, see what this was all about. (Your somewhere in NJ?)You mentioned message board so I found this site after googling message brd and his old number. Can anyone suggest help on this, Thanks.

Look up "Caller ID spoofing scam victim" on google and see how this is done and what congress is doing about it.

I just got telemarketed by a company called Freedom for Today. I am on the Do Not Call list and this is the forth time they have called me. After the recorded message, I did talk with a live person. I tried to get enough info to identify who they actually were. But as soon as I started asking for details on who they were, they hung up on me.

So this time I played along with them pretending I had credit card debt, etc. At one point, while FFT had me on hold, I called the fraud department at Chase Bank on my cell phone. They recorded the call between me and Freedom for Today.

I now have FFT's address, phone number, etc. I will be suing them for violating the Do Not Call Laws. Chase said they will supply me with the recording so I can use it in court.

FFT tried really hard to get the 3 digit number on the back of my card but I would not give it. I did give FFT my real CC# and expiration date but then had Chase close the account immediately and issue a new card, so FFT cannot charge the $799.00 they said they would charge me.

If enough people sue them, it might help shut them down. Here is the info I have on them:
